Numbers 21:19

And from Mattanah to Nahaliel, and from Nahaliel to Bamoth.
] All the Targums interpret this, and the following verse, not of the journeying of the children of Israel, but of the motion of the well, that that, from the place from whence it was given them, descended with them into the valleys, and from thence to the high places, as these words signify: and indeed those places are not mentioned in the journeys of the children of Israel, ( Numbers 33:1-56 ) and were not stations where they pitched, but places they passed through before they came to Abarim, and the wilderness of Kedemoth.

17 Then Israel sang this song: "Spring up, O well! Sing to it!
18 "The well, which the leaders sank, Which the nobles of the people dug, With the scepter and with their staffs." And from the wilderness they continued to Mattanah,
19 and from Mattanah to Nahaliel, and from Nahaliel to Bamoth,
20 and from Bamoth to the valley that is in the land of Moab, at the top of Pisgah which overlooks the wasteland.
21 Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon, king of the Amorites, saying,
