Psalms 92:8

8 But, Lord, you will be honored forever.

Psalms 92:8 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 92:8

But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore
God is "the most High"; that is one of his names; he is above all, is higher than the highest; and he dwells on high, and looks down upon the inhabitants of the earth, and sees what is doing among them; and to him they will be accountable another day for what they do; and when wicked, men perish, being destroyed, he will continue for ever in all his greatness, glory, and majesty; for there seems to be an antithesis in this verse to the former, or between wicked men and the Lord; and besides he endures for ever to inflict punishment upon them; and therefore it is that they shall be destroyed for ever.

Psalms 92:8 In-Context

6 Stupid people don't know these things, and fools don't understand.
7 Wicked people grow like the grass. Evil people seem to do well, but they will be destroyed forever.
8 But, Lord, you will be honored forever.
9 Lord, surely your enemies, surely your enemies will be destroyed, and all who do evil will be scattered.
10 But you have made me as strong as an ox. You have poured fine oils on me.
