Joshua 15:46

From Ekron even unto the sea
The Mediterranean sea, or the west, as the Targum:

all that [lay] near Ashdod, with their villages;
this is the Azotus of the New Testament, ( Acts 8:40 ) , another of the principalities of the Philistines, of which and Ekron (See Gill on Amos 1:8) and (See Gill on Zephaniah 2:4).
