Psalms 37:33 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 37:33

The Lord will not leave him in his hand
Or power; but will in his own time deliver him from all the reproach, affliction, and persecution endures by him; as he will also deliver him out of all the temptations of Satan;

nor condemn him when he is judged;
by the wicked man: he will not join in the sentence, but reverse it, and condemn the tongue that rises up in judgment against him, and save him from him; see ( Psalms 109:31 ) ( Isaiah 54:17 ) ; nor will the Lord condemn him when he is judged by him at the hast judgment; but will acquit him before men and angels, and introduce him into his kingdom and glory.

Psalms 37:33 In-Context

31 God's law is in their hearts. Their feet do not slip.
32 Those who are evil hide and wait for godly people. They are trying to kill them.
33 But the LORD will not leave the godly in their power. He will not let them be found guilty when they are brought into court.
34 Wait for the LORD to act. Live as he wants you to. He will honor you by giving you the land. When sinners are cut off from it, you will see it.
35 I saw a mean and sinful person. He was doing well, like a green tree in its own soil.
