49 Why didn’t you arrest me in the Temple? I was there among you teaching every day. But these things are happening to fulfill what the Scriptures say about me.”

Mark 14:49

I was daily with you in the temple
That is, for several days past; ever since he made his public entry into Jerusalem:

teaching;
the people, in a public manner:

and ye took me not;
did not attempt to lay hands on him, seize him, and carry him away; which he signifies might have been easily done; (See Gill on Matthew 26:55).

But the Scriptures must be fulfilled:
which spoke of the betraying him by Judas; and of their taking him in this private and secret manner; and of the flight of the disciples from him next mentioned; (See Gill on Matthew 26:56).

48 Jesus asked them, “Am I some dangerous revolutionary, that you come with swords and clubs to arrest me?
49 Why didn’t you arrest me in the Temple? I was there among you teaching every day. But these things are happening to fulfill what the Scriptures say about me.”
50 Then all his disciples deserted him and ran away.
