20 Ben-adad aceptó la propuesta del rey Asa y envió a los comandantes de su ejército a atacar las ciudades de Israel. Ellos conquistaron las ciudades de Ijón, Dan, Abel-bet-maaca, toda Cineret y toda la tierra de Neftalí.

1 Kings 15:20

So Benhadad hearkened unto King Asa, and sent the captains of
the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel
He broke off his alliance with the king of Israel; and as he had a standing army, with proper officers, he sent them directly to take the cities of Israel:

and he smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth,
with all the land of Naphtali;
places which lay on the northern part of Israel, the nearest to Syria. Ijon some place in the tribe of Naphtali, others in Asher; it seems to be on the extreme border of the land northward, as Dan also was; hence the phrase from Dan to Beersheba, i.e. from north to south. Abelbethmaachah is the same with Abelmaim, ( 2 Chronicles 16:4 ) which perhaps is the same with that Abela, placed by Jerome

18 En respuesta, Asa tomó toda la plata y todo el oro que quedaban en los tesoros del templo del Señor
y del palacio real, y encargó a unos de sus funcionarios que le enviaran todo a Ben-adad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Aram, que gobernaba en Damasco, junto con el siguiente mensaje:

19 «Hagamos un tratado,
tú y yo, como hicieron tu padre y mi padre. Mira, te envío de regalo plata y oro. Rompe el tratado con el rey Baasa de Israel, para que me deje en paz».

20 Ben-adad aceptó la propuesta del rey Asa y envió a los comandantes de su ejército a atacar las ciudades de Israel. Ellos conquistaron las ciudades de Ijón, Dan, Abel-bet-maaca, toda Cineret y toda la tierra de Neftalí.

21 Apenas Baasa de Israel se enteró de lo que ocurría, abandonó el proyecto de fortificar Ramá y se retiró a Tirsa.

22 Entonces el rey Asa mandó una orden por todo Judá mediante la cual exigía que toda persona, sin excepción, ayudara a transportar las piedras de construcción y la madera que Baasa estaba usando para fortificar Ramá. Asa empleó esos mismos materiales para fortificar la ciudad de Geba en Benjamín y la ciudad de Mizpa.
