2 Samuel 19:1

And it was told Joab
When returned to Mahanaim, or on his way to it; perhaps by the messengers he sent; and this report he had before he saw the king:

behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom;
for the death of him, instead of rejoicing at the victory obtained, and the deliverance from his enemies.

Pronto le llegó a Joab la noticia de que el rey estaba llorando y haciendo duelo por Absalón.

2 A medida que el pueblo se enteraba del profundo dolor del rey por su hijo, la alegría por la victoria se tornaba en profunda tristeza.

3 Ese día todos regresaron sigilosamente a la ciudad, como si estuvieran avergonzados y hubieran desertado de la batalla.

4 El rey se cubrió el rostro con las manos y seguía llorando: «¡Oh, Absalón, hijo mío! ¡Oh, Absalón, hijo mío, hijo mío!».
