Daniel 11:29

At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the
south
At the time appointed of God, he should return from Syria again to Egypt; which was his third expedition thither, and was occasioned by the Alexandrians setting up the brother of Ptolemy Philometor for king; wherefore he hastened to Egypt with a large army, under a pretence of restoring the deposed king; but in reality to seize the kingdom for himself ^F25: but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter;
this expedition should not succeed so well as the two former, as it did not; he could not carry his point, neither subdue Egypt, nor get any of the two brothers into his hands, as he had done before; the reason of which follows:

27 Entonces sin otro propósito que dañarse el uno al otro, estos reyes se sentarán a la mesa de negociaciones y conspirarán el uno contra el otro con el propósito de engañarse mutuamente; pero esto no cambiará nada, porque el fin llegará a la hora señalada.

28 »El rey del norte, entonces, regresará a su territorio con muchas riquezas. En su camino se pondrá en contra del pueblo del pacto sagrado y causará mucho daño antes de seguir su viaje.

29 »Después, a la hora señalada, volverá a invadir el sur, pero esta vez el resultado será diferente.

30 Pues lo espantarán barcos de guerra de las costas del occidente;
se retirará y volverá a su territorio. Sin embargo, descargará su enojo contra el pueblo del pacto sagrado y premiará a los que abandonen el pacto.

31 »Su ejército se apoderará de la fortaleza del templo, contaminará el santuario, pondrá fin a los sacrificios diarios y colocará el objeto sacrílego que causa profanación.
