Deuteronomio 5:17 Meaning and Commentary

Ver. 17-20. Thou shalt not kill
The following commands begin with the copulative "and", different from the manner in which they are expressed, ( Exodus 20:17 ) which joins these together, and them with the preceding ones; hence the law is by some said to be one copulative, and may serve to illustrate a passage in ( James 2:10 ) .

15 Recuerda que tú también fuiste esclavo en Egipto y que el Señor
tu Dios te sacó de allí con mano fuerte y brazo poderoso. Por esa razón, el Señor
tu Dios te ordenó descansar el séptimo día.

17 »No cometas asesinato.
18 »No cometas adulterio.
19 »No robes.
