Exodus 2:20

And he said unto his daughters, and where is he?
&c.] By the account Reuel's daughters gave of Moses, of his courage and humanity, he was very desirous of seeing him:

why [is it] that ye have left the man?
behind them at the well, and had not brought him along with them; he seemed to be displeased, and chides them, and tacitly suggests that they were rude and ungrateful not to ask a stranger, and one that had been so kind to them, to come with them and refresh himself:

call him, that he may eat bread;
take meat with them, bread being put for all provisions.

18 Cuando las jóvenes regresaron a la casa de Reuel, su padre, él les preguntó:
—¿Por qué hoy han regresado tan pronto?

19 —Un egipcio nos rescató de los pastores —contestaron ellas—; después nos sacó agua y dio de beber a nuestros rebaños.

20 —¿Y dónde está ese hombre? —les preguntó el padre—. ¿Por qué lo dejaron allí? Invítenlo a comer con nosotros.

21 Moisés aceptó la invitación y se estableció allí con Reuel. Con el tiempo, Reuel le entregó a su hija Séfora por esposa.

22 Más tarde, ella dio a luz un hijo, y Moisés lo llamó Gersón,
pues explicó: «He sido un extranjero en tierra extraña».
