7 »Sin embargo, los levitas no recibirán ninguna porción de tierra. Su porción consiste en ser sacerdotes del Señor

Joshua 18:7

But the Levites have no part among you
And so needed not to send any men out of their tribe to measure the land on their account, and is a reason why the remaining part of the land was to be divided into seven parts only:

for the priesthood of the Lord [is] his inheritance;
not only the office, but what appertained to it, all the perquisites of it, the tithes, firstfruits, parts of the sacrifices see ( Joshua 13:14 ) ;

and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received
their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of
the Lord gave them;
and so had no share in the division of the land of Canaan, being sufficiently provided for.

5 Que dividan la tierra en siete partes sin incluir el territorio de Judá, en el sur, ni el de José, en el norte.

6 Y cuando tengan por escrito las siete divisiones de la tierra y me las traigan, haré un sorteo sagrado en presencia del Señor
nuestro Dios para asignarle tierra a cada tribu.

8 Al comenzar los hombres su recorrido para trazar el mapa de la tierra, Josué les ordenó: «Vayan y exploren la tierra y hagan una descripción de ella por escrito. Después, vuelvan a verme, y yo repartiré la tierra entre las tribus por medio de un sorteo sagrado en presencia del Señor
aquí, en Silo».

9 Así que los hombres hicieron lo que se les ordenó y trazaron un mapa de todo el territorio dividido en siete partes, con una lista de las ciudades que había en cada una de las partes. Pusieron todo por escrito y luego regresaron a ver a Josué, al campamento de Silo.
