Psalms 69:7

Because for thy sake I have borne reproach
Being reckoned a sinner, called a deceiver, said to be a Samaritan, and to have a devil; with many other reproaches, which he bore patiently for the sake of the word and worship of God, and for the sake of the glory of God, which he all along sought; and to repair the loss of it, which was sustained through the sin of man;

shame hath covered my face;
when he was spit upon by some, and smote by others with a rod upon his cheek; and when he was blindfolded, and bid to prophesy who smote him; see ( Isaiah 50:6 ) .

5 Oh Dios, tú sabes lo necio que soy;
de ti no puedo ocultar mis pecados.

6 No dejes que los que confían en ti sean avergonzados por mi culpa,
oh Señor
Soberano de los Ejércitos Celestiales.
No permitas que sean humillados por mi causa,
oh Dios de Israel.

7 Pues yo soporto insultos por amor a ti;
tengo la humillación dibujada en todo mi rostro.

8 Hasta mis propios hermanos fingen no conocerme,
me tratan como a un extraño.

9 El celo por tu casa me ha consumido,
y los insultos de los que te insultan han caído sobre mí.
