And Jonathan said unto David, come, and let us go out into
the field
That they might more fully, and freely, and familiarly talk of this affair between them, without any danger of being overheard by the servants of Saul, as they were in his palace, where they now were:

and they went out both of them into the field;
which belonged to Gibeah.

9 —¡No digas tal cosa! —exclamó Jonatán—. Si llegara a enterarme de que mi padre ha decidido hacerte algún daño, ¿no crees que te lo diría?
10 David le preguntó:—Si tu padre te responde de mal modo, ¿quién me lo hará saber?
11 Por toda respuesta, Jonatán invitó a David a salir al campo. Una vez allí,
12 le dijo:—David, te juro por el SEÑOR, Dios de Israel, que a más tardar pasado mañana a esta hora averiguaré lo que piensa mi padre. Si no corres peligro, de alguna manera te lo haré saber.
13 Pero si mi padre intenta hacerte daño, y yo no te aviso para que puedas escapar, ¡que el SEÑOR me castigue sin piedad, y que esté contigo como estuvo con mi padre!
