16 ¡Que el SEÑOR pida cuentas de esto a tus enemigos!De ese modo Jonatán hizo un pacto con la familia de David,

1 Samuel 20:16

So Jonathan made [a covenant] with the house of David
Not with David himself only, which was now renewed, but with his family also:

[saying], let the Lord even require [it] at the hand of David's
enemies;
take vengeance on Jonathan, or on any of his posterity, should they break this covenant, by showing themselves enemies to David, and his crown; and, on the other hand, also on David, and his posterity, should they not show kindness to Jonathan and his seed, according to the tenor of this covenant.

14 Y si todavía estoy vivo cuando el SEÑOR te muestre su bondad, te pido que también tú seas bondadoso conmigo y no dejes que me maten.
15 ¡Nunca dejes de ser bondadoso con mi familia, aun cuando el SEÑOR borre de la faz de la tierra a todos tus enemigos!
16 ¡Que el SEÑOR pida cuentas de esto a tus enemigos!De ese modo Jonatán hizo un pacto con la familia de David,
17 pues quería a David como a sí mismo. Por ese cariño que le tenía, le pidió a David confirmar el pacto bajo juramento.
18 Además le dijo:—Mañana es la fiesta de luna nueva. Cuando vean tu asiento desocupado, te van a extrañar.
