Deuteronomy 3:23

And I besought the Lord at that time
When he was told he should die, and Joshua should succeed him; or when the two kings were slain, and their kingdoms conquered; this being the beginning, pledge, and earnest of what God had promised to do for the people of Israel; Moses was very desirous of living to see the work completed, and therefore sought the Lord by prayer and supplication:

saying;
as follows.

21 »En aquel tiempo le ordené a Josué: “Con tus propios ojos has visto todo lo que el SEÑOR, el Dios de ustedes, ha hecho con esos dos reyes. Y lo mismo hará con todos los reinos por donde vas a pasar.
22 No les tengas miedo, que el SEÑOR tu Dios pelea por ti”.
23 »En aquella ocasión le supliqué al SEÑOR:
24 “Tú, SEÑOR y Dios, has comenzado a mostrarle a tu siervo tu grandeza y tu poder; pues ¿qué dios hay en el cielo o en la tierra capaz de hacer las obras y los prodigios que tú realizas?
25 Déjame pasar y ver la buena tierra al otro lado del Jordán, esa hermosa región montañosa y el Líbano”.
