1 Promesas de liberación<br />Entonces el Señor<br /> le dijo a Moisés:<br />—Ahora verás lo que le haré al faraón. Cuando él sienta el peso de mi mano fuerte, dejará salir al pueblo. De hecho, ¡él mismo los echará de su tierra!

2 Dios también le dijo:<br />—Yo soy Yahveh, “el Señor<br />”<br />.

3 Me aparecí a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob como El-Shaddai, “Dios Todopoderoso”<br />, pero a ellos no les revelé mi nombre: Yahveh.

4 Y reafirmé mi pacto con ellos, mediante el cual prometí darles la tierra de Canaán donde vivían como extranjeros.

5 Puedes estar seguro de que oí los gemidos de los israelitas que ahora son esclavos de los egipcios, y tengo muy presente mi pacto con ellos.

6 »Por lo tanto, dile al pueblo de Israel: “Yo soy el Señor<br />. Te libertaré de la opresión que sufres y te rescataré de tu esclavitud en Egipto. Te redimiré con mi brazo poderoso y con grandes actos de juicio.

7 Te tomaré como pueblo mío y seré tu Dios. Entonces sabrás que yo soy el Señor<br /> tu Dios, quien te ha librado de la opresión de Egipto.

8 Te llevaré a la tierra que juré dar a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob; te la daré a ti como tu posesión exclusiva. ¡Yo soy el Señor<br />!”.

9 Así que Moisés le dijo al pueblo de Israel lo que el Señor<br /> había dicho, pero ellos no quisieron escucharlo más porque estaban demasiado desalentados por la brutalidad de su esclavitud.

10 Luego el Señor<br /> le dijo a Moisés:

11 —Vuelve a hablar con el faraón, rey de Egipto, y dile que deje salir de su territorio al pueblo de Israel.

12 —¡Pero Señor<br />! —contestó Moisés—, si mi propio pueblo ya no quiere escucharme, ¿cómo puedo esperar que me escuche el faraón? ¡Soy tan torpe para hablar!

13 Pero el Señor<br /> habló con Moisés y con Aarón y les dio órdenes para los israelitas y para el faraón, rey de Egipto. El Señor<br /> mandó a Moisés y a Aarón que sacaran de Egipto al pueblo de Israel.

14 Antepasados de Moisés y de Aarón<br />Los siguientes son los antepasados de algunos de los clanes de Israel:<br />Los hijos de Rubén, el hijo mayor de Israel, fueron: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi. Sus descendientes formaron los clanes de Rubén.

15 Los hijos de Simeón fueron: Jemuel, Jamín, Ohad, Jaquín, Zohar y Saúl. (La madre de Saúl fue una mujer cananea). Sus descendientes formaron los clanes de Simeón.

16 Estos son los descendientes de Leví, tal como aparecen en los registros de familia. Los hijos de Leví fueron: Gersón, Coat y Merari. (Leví vivió hasta los ciento treinta y siete años).

17 Entre los descendientes de Gersón se encontraban Libni y Simei, cada uno de ellos llegó a ser el antepasado de un clan.

18 Entre los descendientes de Coat se encontraban Amram, Izhar, Hebrón y Uziel. (Coat vivió hasta los ciento treinta y tres años).

19 Entre los descendientes de Merari estaban Mahli y Musi.<br />Los siguientes son los clanes de los levitas, tal como aparecen en los registros de familia:

20 Amram se casó con Jocabed, hermana de su padre, y ella dio a luz dos hijos, Aarón y Moisés. (Amram vivó hasta los ciento treinta y siete años).

21 Los hijos de Izhar fueron: Coré, Nefeg y Zicri.

22 Los hijos de Uziel fueron: Misael, Elzafán y Sitri.

23 Aarón se casó con Eliseba, hija de Aminadab y hermana de Naasón. Ella dio a luz a sus hijos Nadab, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

24 Los hijos de Coré fueron: Asir, Elcana y Abiasaf. Sus descendientes formaron los clanes de Coré.

25 Eleazar, hijo de Aarón, se casó con una de las hijas de Futiel, y ella dio a luz a su hijo, Finees.<br />Esos son los antepasados de las familias levitas, registrados según sus clanes.

26 El Aarón y el Moisés mencionados en la lista anterior son a quienes el Señor<br /> dijo: «Saquen al pueblo de Israel de la tierra de Egipto como a un ejército».

27 Moisés y Aarón fueron los que hablaron con el faraón, rey de Egipto, acerca de sacar de Egipto al pueblo de Israel.

29 le dijo:<br />—¡Yo soy el Señor<br />! Dile al faraón, rey de Egipto, todo lo que te digo.

30 Pero Moisés discutió con el Señor<br /> argumentando:<br />—¡No puedo hacerlo! ¡Soy tan torpe para hablar! ¿Por qué debe escucharme el faraón?

1 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country.”

2 God also said to Moses, “I am the LORD.

3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself fully known to them.

4 I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they resided as foreigners.

5 Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.

6 “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.

7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.

8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD.’ ”

9 Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor.

10 Then the LORD said to Moses,

11 “Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country.”

12 But Moses said to the LORD, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips ?”

13 Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron about the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he commanded them to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.

14 These were the heads of their families : The sons of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel were Hanok and Pallu, Hezron and Karmi. These were the clans of Reuben.

15 The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. These were the clans of Simeon.

16 These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.

17 The sons of Gershon, by clans, were Libni and Shimei.

18 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years.

19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of Levi according to their records.

20 Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.

21 The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zikri.

22 The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.

23 Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

24 The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were the Korahite clans.

25 Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These were the heads of the Levite families, clan by clan.

26 It was this Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, “Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions.”

27 They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing the Israelites out of Egypt—this same Moses and Aaron.

28 Now when the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt,

29 he said to him, “I am the LORD. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you.”

30 But Moses said to the LORD, “Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”
