NLT

1 They brought the ark of God in and put it in the tent that David had set up for it; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.
1 They brought the Ark of God and placed it inside the special tent David had prepared for it. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings to God.
2 When David had finished offering the burnt offering and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of ADONAI.
2 When he had finished his sacrifices, David blessed the people in the name of the LORD .
3 Then he distributed to everyone in Isra'el, to everyone there, both men and women, a loaf of bread, a portion of meat and a raisin cake.
3 Then he gave to every man and woman in all Israel a loaf of bread, a cake of dates, and a cake of raisins.
4 He appointed certain L'vi'im to serve in front of the ark of ADONAI, to celebrate, and to thank and praise ADONAI the God of Isra'el:
4 David appointed the following Levites to lead the people in worship before the Ark of the LORD —to invoke his blessings, to give thanks, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel.
5 Asaf, the leader; assisting him, Z'kharyah; then Ye'i'el, Sh'miramot, Yechi'el, Mattityahu, Eli'av, B'nayahu, 'Oved-Edom and Ye'i'el playing lutes and lyres, while Asaf played cymbals.
5 Asaph, the leader of this group, sounded the cymbals. Second to him was Zechariah, followed by Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel. They played the harps and lyres.
6 B'nayah and Yachzi'el the cohanim blew the trumpets continually before the ark for the covenant of God.
6 The priests, Benaiah and Jahaziel, played the trumpets regularly before the Ark of God’s Covenant.
7 It was on that same day that David first ordered that thanks be given to ADONAI through Asaf and his kinsmen:
7 On that day David gave to Asaph and his fellow Levites this song of thanksgiving to the LORD :
8 Give thanks to ADONAI! Call on his name! Make his deeds known among the peoples.
8 Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.
9 Sing to him, sing praises to him! Talk about all his wonders.
9 Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
10 Glory in his holy name; let those seeking ADONAI have joyful hearts.
10 Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD .
11 Seek ADONAI and his strength; always seek his presence.
11 Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.
12 Remember the wonders he has done, his signs and his spoken judgments.
12 Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given,
13 You descendants of Isra'el his servant, you offspring of Ya'akov, his chosen ones:
13 you children of his servant Israel, you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones.
14 he is ADONAI our God, His judgments are everywhere on earth.
14 He is the LORD our God. His justice is seen throughout the land.
15 Remember his covenant forever, the word he commanded to a thousand generations,
15 Remember his covenant forever— the commitment he made to a thousand generations.
16 the covenant he made with Avraham; the oath he swore to Yitz'chak
16 This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac.
17 and established as a law for Ya'akov, for Isra'el as an everlasting covenant:
17 He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant:
18 "To you I will give the land of Kena'an as your allotted heritage."
18 “I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.”
19 When you were but few in number, and not only few, but aliens there too,
19 He said this when you were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan.
20 wandering from nation to nation, from this kingdom to that people,
20 They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
21 he allowed no one to oppress them. Yes, for their sakes he rebuked even kings:
21 Yet he did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf:
22 "Don't touch my anointed ones or do my prophets harm!"
22 “Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.”
23 Sing to ADONAI, all the earth! Proclaim his victory day after day!
23 Let the whole earth sing to the LORD ! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.
24 Declare his glory among the nations, his wonders among all peoples!
24 Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.
25 For ADONAI is great, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared more than all gods.
25 Great is the LORD ! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are nothing, but ADONAI made the heavens.
26 The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the LORD made the heavens!
27 In his presence are honor and majesty; in his place, strength and joy.
27 Honor and majesty surround him; strength and joy fill his dwelling.
28 Give ADONAI his due, you families from the peoples, give ADONAI his due of glory and strength;
28 O nations of the world, recognize the LORD, recognize that the LORD is glorious and strong.
29 give ADONAI the glory due to his name; bring an offering, and come into his presence. Worship ADONAI in splendid, holy attire.
29 Give to the LORD the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the LORD in all his holy splendor.
30 Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established, immovable.
30 Let all the earth tremble before him. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.
31 Let the heavens rejoice; let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, "ADONAI is king!"
31 Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Tell all the nations, “The LORD reigns!”
32 Let the sea roar, and everything in it; let the fields exult, and all that is in them.
32 Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!
33 Then the trees in the forest will sing before ADONAI, because he has come to judge the earth.
33 Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for he is coming to judge the earth.
34 Give thanks to ADONAI; for he is good, for his grace continues forever.
34 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
35 Say: "Save us, God who can save us! Gather and rescue us from the nations; so that we can thank your holy name and glory in praising you.
35 Cry out, “Save us, O God of our salvation! Gather and rescue us from among the nations, so we can thank your holy name and rejoice and praise you.”
36 Blessed be ADONAI, the God of Isra'el, from eternity past to eternity future!" All the people said, "Amen!" and praised ADONAI.
36 Praise the LORD, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting! And all the people shouted “Amen!” and praised the LORD .

42 With them were Heman and Y'dutun to play trumpets and cymbals, also instruments for the songs about God; while the sons of Y'dutun were assigned to the gate.
42 They used their trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments to accompany their songs of praise to God. And the sons of Jeduthun were appointed as gatekeepers.
43 Then the people all left for their homes, and David returned to bless his household.
