1 These are the sons of Isra'el: Re'uven, Shim'on, Levi, Y'hudah, Yissakhar, Z'vulun,
2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
2 Dan, Yosef, Binyamin, Naftali, Gad and Asher.
3 Judah's sons were Er, Onan, and Shelah. A Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua, was their mother. Judah's first son, Er, did what the Lord said was wicked, so the Lord put him to death.
3 The sons of Y'hudah: 'Er, Onan and Shelah; the mother of these three was Bat-Shua the Kena'anit. 'Er, Y'hudah's firstborn, was wicked from ADONAI's perspective, so he killed him.
4 Judah's daughter-in-law Tamar gave birth to Perez and Zerah. Judah was the father, so Judah had five sons.
4 Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Peretz and Zerach; thus Y'hudah had five sons altogether.
5 Perez's sons were Hezron and Hamul.
5 The sons of Peretz: Hetzron and Hamul.
6 Zerah had five sons: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Darda.
6 The sons of Zerach: Zimri, Eitan, Heiman, Kalkol and Dara - five of them altogether.
7 Carmi's son was Achan, who caused trouble for Israel because he took things that had been given to the Lord to be destroyed.
7 The sons of Karmi: 'Akhar [troubler], who troubled Isra'el by violating the rule concerning things set aside to be destroyed.
8 Ethan's son was Azariah.

9 Hezron's sons were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Caleb.

12 Bo'az fathered 'Oved; 'Oved fathered Yishai;
13 Jesse's first son was Eliab. His second son was Abinadab, his third was Shimea,
13 and Yishai fathered Eli'av his firstborn, Avinadav second, Shim'a third,
14 his fourth was Nethanel, his fifth was Raddai,

15 his sixth was Ozem, and his seventh son was David.

16 Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. Zeruiah's three sons were Abishai, Joab, and Asahel.
16 and their sisters Tz'ruyah and Avigayil. The sons of Tz'ruyah: Avshai, Yo'av and 'Asah'el, three of them.
17 Abigail was the mother of Amasa, and his father was Jether, an Ishmaelite.
17 Avigayil was the mother of 'Amasa; the father of 'Amasa was Yeter the Yishma'eli.
18 Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah and by Jerioth. Caleb and Azubah's sons were Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.
18 Kalev the son of Hetzron fathered sons with 'Azuvah his wife (and with Yeri'ot); these were her sons: Yesher, Shovav and Ardon.
19 When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath. They had a son named Hur,
19 After 'Azuvah died, Kalev married Efrat, who bore him Hur.
20 who was the father of Uri, who was the father of Bezalel.
20 Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered B'tzal'el.
21 Later, when Hezron was sixty years old, he married the daughter of Makir, Gilead's father. Hezron had sexual relations with Makir's daughter, and she had a son named Segub.
21 Afterwards, Hetzron had sexual relations with the daughter of Machir the father of Gil'ad; he married her when he was sixty years old, and she bore him S'guv.
22 Segub was the father of Jair. Jair controlled twenty-three cities in the country of Gilead.
22 S'guv fathered Ya'ir, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gil'ad.
23 (But Geshur and Aram captured the Towns of Jair, as well as Kenath and the small towns around it -- sixty towns in all.) All these were descendants of Makir, the father of Gilead.
23 (But G'shur and Aram took Havot-Ya'ir away from them, along with K'nat and its villages - sixty cities.) All these were descendants of Machir the father of Gil'ad.
24 After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, his wife Abijah had his son, named Ashhur. Ashhur became the father of Tekoa.
24 After Hetzron died in Kalev-Efratah, Aviyah Hetzron's wife bore him Ash'chur the father of T'koa.
25 Hezron's first son was Jerahmeel. Jerahmeel's sons were Ram, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah. Ram was Jerahmeel's first son.
25 The sons of Yerachme'el Hetzron's firstborn: Ram the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Otzem and Achiyah.
26 Jerahmeel had another wife, named Atarah. She was the mother of Onam.
26 Yerachme'el had another wife, whose name was 'Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
27 Jerahmeel's first son, Ram, had sons. They were Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.
27 The sons of Ram the firstborn son of Yerachme'el: Ma'atz, Yamin and 'Eker.
28 Onam's sons were Shammai and Jada. Shammai's sons were Nadab and Abishur.
28 The sons of Onam: Shamai and Yada. The sons of Shamai: Nadav and Avishur.
29 Abishur's wife was named Abihail, and their sons were Ahban and Molid.
29 Avishur's wife was named Avichayil, and she bore him Achban and Molid.
30 Nadab's sons were Seled and Appaim. Seled died without having children.
30 The sons of Nadav: Seled and Apayim. Seled died without having any children.
31 Appaim's son was Ishi, who became the father of Sheshan. Sheshan was the father of Ahlai.
31 The son of Apayim: Yish'i. The son of Yish'i: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Achlai.
32 Jada was Shammai's brother, and Jada's sons were Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without having children.
32 The sons of Yada the brother of Shamai: Yeter and Yonatan. Yeter died without having any children.
33 Jonathan's sons were Peleth and Zaza. These were Jerahmeel's descendants.
33 The sons of Yonatan: Pelet and Zaza. These were the descendants of Yerachme'el.
34 Sheshan did not have any sons, only daughters. He had a servant from Egypt named Jarha.
34 Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Yarcha;
35 Sheshan let his daughter marry his servant Jarha, and she had a son named Attai.
35 Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to Yarcha his servant, and she bore him 'Atai.
36 Attai was the father of Nathan. Nathan was the father of Zabad.
36 'Atai fathered Natan, Natan fathered Zavad,
37 Zabad was the father of Ephlal. Ephlal was the father of Obed.
37 Zavad fathered Eflal, Eflal fathered 'Oved,
38 Obed was the father of Jehu. Jehu was the father of Azariah.

40 Eleasah was the father of Sismai. Sismai was the father of Shallum.

41 Shallum was the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah was the father of Elishama.
41 Shalum fathered Y'kamyah and Y'kamyah fathered Elishama.
42 Caleb was Jerahmeel's brother. Caleb's first son was Mesha. Mesha was the father of Ziph, and his son Mareshah was the father of Hebron.
42 The sons of Kalev the brother of Yerachme'el: Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Zif; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hevron.
43 Hebron's sons were Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.
43 The sons of Hevron: Korach, Tapuach, Rekem and Shema.
44 Shema was the father of Raham, who was the father of Jorkeam. Rekem was the father of Shammai.
44 Shema fathered Racham the father of Yorke'am, and Rekem fathered Shamai.
45 Shammai was the father of Maon, and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.
45 The son of Shamai was Ma'on, and Ma'on was the father of Beit-Tzur.
46 Caleb's slave woman was named Ephah, and she was the mother of Haran, Moza, and Gazez. Haran was the father of Gazez.
46 'Eifah, Kalev's concubine, bore Haran, Motza and Gazez; and Haran fathered Gazez.
47 Jahdai's sons were Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.
47 The sons of Yahdai: Regem, Yotam, Geshan, Pelet, 'Eifah and Sha'af.
48 Caleb had another slave woman named Maacah. She was the mother of Sheber, Tirhanah,
48 Ma'akhah, Kalev's concubine, bore Shever and Tirchanah.
49 Shaaph, and Sheva. Shaaph was the father of Madmannah. Sheva was the father of Macbenah and Gibea. Caleb's daughter was Acsah.
49 [The wife of] Sha'af the father of Madmanah bore Sh'va the father of Machbenah and the father of Giv'a. The daughter of Kalev was 'Akhsah.

50 These were the descendants of Kalev. The sons of Hur the firstborn of Efratah: Shoval the father of Kiryat-Ye'arim,
51 These were Caleb's descendants: Caleb's son Hur was the first son of his mother Ephrathah. Hur's sons were Shobal, Salma, and Hareph. Shobal was the father of Kiriath Jearim. Salma was the father of Bethlehem. And Hareph was the father of Beth Gader.
51 Salma the father of Beit-Lechem and Haref the father of Beit-Gader.
52 Shobal was the father of Kiriath Jearim. Shobal's descendants were Haroeh, half the Manahathites,
52 Shoval the father of Kiryat-Ye'arim had sons: HaRo'eh and half of the [inhabitants of] M'nuchot.
53 and the family groups of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites, and Mishraites. The Zorathites and the Eshtaolites came from the Mishraite people.
53 The families of Kiryat-Ye'arim: the Yitri, the Puti, the Shumati and the Mishra'i; from them came the Tzor'ati and the Eshta'uli.
54 Salma's descendants were Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth Joab, half the Manahathites, and the Zorites.
54 The sons of Salma: Beit-Lechem, the N'tofati, 'Atrot-Beit-Yo'av, half of the Manachati, the Tzor'i,
55 His descendants included the families who lived at Jabez, who wrote and copied important papers. They were called the Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Sucathites and were from the Kenite family group who came from Hammath. He was the father of the people living in Recab.
55 the families of scribes that lived in Ya'betz, the Tir'atim, the Shim'atim and the Sukhatim. These are the Kinim, who came from Hamat, father of the house of Rekhav.
