10 and Yochanan fathered 'Azaryah. He functioned as cohen in the house that Shlomo built in Yerushalayim.
11 Azariah was the father of Amariah. Amariah was the father of Ahitub.
11 'Azaryah fathered Amaryah, Amaryah fathered Achituv,
12 Ahitub was the father of Zadok. Zadok was the father of Shallum.
12 Achituv fathered Tzadok, Tzadok fathered Shalum,
13 Shallum was the father of Hilkiah. Hilkiah was the father of Azariah.
13 Shalum fathered Hilkiyah, Hilkiyah fathered 'Azaryah,
14 Azariah was the father of Seraiah, and Seraiah was the father of Jehozadak.
14 'Azaryah fathered S'rayah, S'rayah fathered Y'hotzadak,
15 Jehozadak was forced to leave his home when the Lord sent Judah and Jerusalem into captivity under the control of Nebuchadnezzar.
15 and Y'hotzadak went into captivity when ADONAI carried Y'hudah and Yerushalayim away at the hands of N'vukhadnetzar.
16 Levi's sons were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

17 The names of Gershon's sons were Libni and Shimei.
17 These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Livni and Shim'i.

31 David chose some people to be in charge of the music in the house of the Lord. They began their work after the Ark of the Agreement was put there.
31 David appointed them to be in charge of the service of song in the house of ADONAI after the ark had found a permanent resting place.
32 They served by making music at the Holy Tent (also called the Meeting Tent), and they served until Solomon built the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. They followed the rules for their work.
32 They served as singers before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, until Shlomo had built the house of ADONAI in Yerushalayim; and they carried out their tasks in a prescribed order.
33 These are the musicians and their sons: From Kohath's family there was Heman the singer. Heman was Joel's son. Joel was Samuel's son.
33 Those who carried out these tasks and their descendants were - starting with descendants of the K'hati - Heman the singer, the son of Yo'el the son of Sh'mu'el,
34 Samuel was Elkanah's son. Elkanah was Jeroham's son. Jeroham was Eliel's son. Eliel was Toah's son.
34 the son of Elkanah, the son of Yerocham, the son of Eli'el, the son of Toach,
35 Toah was Zuph's son. Zuph was Elkanah's son. Elkanah was Mahath's son. Mahath was Amasai's son.

45 Malluch was Hashabiah's son. Hashabiah was Amaziah's son. Amaziah was Hilkiah's son.
45 the son of Hashavyah, the son of Amatzyah, the son of Hilkiyah,
46 Hilkiah was Amzi's son. Amzi was Bani's son. Bani was Shemer's son.

48 Their kinsmen the L'vi'im were put in charge of all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
49 Aaron and his descendants offered the sacrifices on the altar of burnt offering and burned the incense on the altar of incense. They offered the sacrifices that removed the Israelites' sins so they could belong to God. They did all the work in the Most Holy Place and followed all the laws that Moses, God's servant, had commanded.
49 But Aharon and his sons were the ones who offered on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense for all the service of the Especially Holy Place and to make atonement for Isra'el, in keeping with all that Moshe the servant of God had ordered to be done.
50 These were Aaron's sons: Eleazar was Aaron's son. Phinehas was Eleazar's son. Abishua was Phinehas' son.
50 These are the descendants of Aharon: his son El'azar, his son Pinchas, his son Avishua,
51 Bukki was Abishua's son. Uzzi was Bukki's son. Zerahiah was Uzzi's son.
51 his son Buki, his son 'Uzi, his son Z'rachyah,
52 Meraioth was Zerahiah's son. Amariah was Meraioth's son. Ahitub was Amariah's son.
52 his son M'rayot, his son Amaryah, his son Achituv,
53 Zadok was Ahitub's son, and Ahimaaz was Zadok's son.
53 his son Tzadok and his son Achima'atz.
54 These are the places where Aaron's descendants lived. His descendants from the Kohath family group received the first share of the land.
54 These were the settlements of the descendants of Aharon according to the territories assigned them: to the descendants of Aharon, of the clans of the K'hati -for the first lot fell to them -
55 They were given the city of Hebron in Judah and the pastures around it,
55 they gave Hevron in the land of Y'hudah with the open land surrounding it,
56 but the fields farther from the city and the villages near Hebron were given to Caleb son of Jephunneh.
56 but the fields and the dependent villages of the city they gave to Kalev the son of Y'funeh.
57 So the descendants of Aaron were given Hebron, one of the cities of safety. They also received the towns and pastures of Libnah, Jattir, Eshtemoa,
57 To the descendants of Aharon they gave the city of refuge Hevron, also Livnah with its surrounding open land, Yatir, Esht'moa with its surrounding open land,
58 Hilen, Debir,
58 Hilen with its surrounding open land, D'vir with its surrounding open land,
59 Ashan, Juttah, and Beth Shemesh.
59 'Ashan with its surrounding open land, Beit-Shemesh with its surrounding open land;
60 They also received these towns and pastures from the tribe of Benjamin: Gibeon, Geba, Alemeth, and Anathoth. The Kohath family groups received a total of thirteen towns.
60 and out of the tribe of Binyamin: Geva with its surrounding open land, 'Alemet with its surrounding open land and 'Anatot with its surrounding open land. All the cities for all their clans amounted to thirteen cities.
61 The rest of the Kohath family group was given ten towns from the family groups of West Manasseh. The towns were chosen by throwing lots.
61 The rest of the descendants of K'hat were assigned by lot, clan by clan, ten cities from the half-tribe of M'nasheh.
62 The Gershon family group received thirteen towns from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the part of Manasseh living in Bashan.
62 The descendants of Gershom were assigned, clan by clan, thirteen cities from the tribes of Yissakhar, Asher, Naftali and M'nasheh in Bashan.
63 The Merari family group received twelve towns from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun. Those towns were chosen by throwing lots.
63 To the descendants of M'rari were assigned by lot, clan by clan, twelve cities from the tribes of Re'uven, Gad and Z'vulun.
64 So the Israelites gave these towns and their pastures to the Levites.
64 So the people of Isra'el gave the L'vi'im these cities with the surrounding open land.
65 The towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin, which were named, were chosen by throwing lots.
65 From the tribes of the descendants of Y'hudah, Shim'on and Binyamin they assigned these cities mentioned by name.
66 Some of the Kohath family groups received towns and pastures from the tribe of Ephraim.
66 Some of the clans of the descendants of K'hat were given cities in territory from the tribe of Efrayim.
67 They received Shechem, one of the cities of safety, with its pastures in the mountains of Ephraim. They also received the towns and pastures of Gezer,
67 They gave them the city of refuge Sh'khem in the hills of Efrayim with the surrounding open land, also Gezer with the surrounding open land,
68 Jokmeam, Beth Horon,
68 Yokme'am with the surrounding open land, Beit-Horon with the surrounding open land,
69 Aijalon, and Gath Rimmon.
69 Ayalon with the surrounding open land, and Gat-Rimmon with the surrounding open land;
70 The rest of the people in the Kohath family group received the towns of Aner and Bileam and their pastures from West Manasseh.
70 and out of the half-tribe of M'nasheh: 'Aner with the surrounding open land and Bil'am with the surrounding open land, for the rest of the clans of the descendants of K'hat.
71 From East Manasseh, the Gershon family received the towns and pastures of Golan in Bashan and Ashtaroth.
71 The descendants of Gershom were given, from the clans of the half-tribe of M'nasheh: Golan in Bashan with the surrounding open land and 'Ashtarot with the surrounding open land;

72 and from the tribe of Yissakhar: Kedesh with the surrounding open land, Davrat with the surrounding open land,
73 From the tribe of Issachar, the Gershon family received the towns and pastures of Kedesh, Daberath, Ramoth, and Anem.
73 Ramot with the surrounding open land and 'Anem with the surrounding open land;

74 and from the tribe of Asher: Mashal with the surrounding open land, 'Avdon with the surrounding open land,
75 From the tribe of Asher, the Gershon family received the towns and pastures of Mashal, Abdon, Hukok, and Rehob.
75 Hukok with the surrounding open land and Rechov with the surrounding open land;
76 From the tribe of Naphtali, the Gershon family received the towns and pastures of Kedesh in Galilee, Hammon, and Kiriathaim.
76 and from the tribe of Naftali: Kedesh in the Galil with the surrounding open land, Hamon with the surrounding open land and Kiryatayim with the surrounding open land.
77 The rest of the Levites, the people from the Merari family, received from the tribe of Zebulun the towns and pastures of Jokneam, Kartah, Rimmono, and Tabor.
77 To the rest [of the L'vi'im], the descendants of M'rari, were given, from the tribe of Z'vulun: Rimmono with the surrounding open land and Tavor with the surrounding open land;

78 and beyond the Yarden at Yericho, on the east side of the Yarden, they were given, from the tribe of Re'uven: Betzer in the desert with the surrounding open land, Yahatz with the surrounding open land,
79 From the tribe of Reuben, the Merari family received the towns and pastures of Bezer in the desert, Jahzah, Kedemoth, and Mephaath. (The tribe of Reuben lived east of the Jordan River, across from Jericho.)
79 K'demot with the surrounding open land and Mefa'at with the surrounding open land;

80 and from the tribe of Gad: Ramot in Gil'ad with the surrounding open land, Machanayim with the surrounding open land,
81 From the tribe of Gad, the Merari family received the towns and pastures of Ramoth in Gilead, Mahanaim, Heshbon, and Jazer.
81 Heshbon with the surrounding open land and Ya'zer with the surrounding open land.
