1 Así que yo, hermanos, no pude hablaros como a espirituales, sino como a carnales, como a niños en Cristo.

2 Os di a beber leche, no alimento sólido, porque todavía no podíais recibirlo. En verdad, ni aun ahora podéis,

3 porque todavía sois carnales. Pues habiendo celos y contiendas entre vosotros, ¿no sois carnales y andáis como hombres?

4 Porque cuando uno dice: Yo soy de Pablo, y otro: Yo soy de Apolos, ¿no sois simplemente hombres?

5 ¿Qué es, pues, Apolos? Y ¿qué es Pablo? Servidores mediante los cuales vosotros habéis creído, según el Señor dio oportunidad a cada uno.

6 Yo planté, Apolos regó, pero Dios ha dado el crecimiento.

7 Así que ni el que planta ni el que riega es algo, sino Dios que da el crecimiento.

8 Ahora bien, el que planta y el que riega son una misma cosa, pero cada uno recibirá su propia recompensa conforme a su propia labor.

9 Porque nosotros somos colaboradores de Dios, y vosotros sois labranza de Dios, edificio de Dios.

10 Conforme a la gracia de Dios que me fue dada, yo, como sabio arquitecto, puse el fundamento, y otro edifica sobre él. Pero cada uno tenga cuidado cómo edifica encima.

11 Pues nadie puede poner otro fundamento que el que ya está puesto, el cual es Jesucristo.

12 Ahora bien, si sobre el fundamento alguno edifica con oro, plata, piedras preciosas, madera, heno, paja,

13 la obra de cada uno se hará evidente; porque el día la dará a conocer, pues con fuego será revelada; el fuego mismo probará la calidad de la obra de cada uno.

14 Si permanece la obra de alguno que ha edificado sobre el fundamento, recibirá recompensa.

15 Si la obra de alguno es consumida por el fuego, sufrirá pérdida; sin embargo, él será salvo, aunque así como por fuego.

16 ¿No sabéis que sois templo de Dios y que el Espíritu de Dios habita en vosotros?

17 Si alguno destruye el templo de Dios, Dios lo destruirá a él, porque el templo de Dios es santo, y eso es lo que vosotros sois.

18 Nadie se engañe a sí mismo. Si alguno de vosotros se cree sabio según este mundo, hágase necio a fin de llegar a ser sabio.

19 Porque la sabiduría de este mundo es necedad ante Dios. Pues escrito está: El es EL QUE PRENDE A LOS SABIOS EN SU propia ASTUCIA.

20 Y también: EL SEÑOR CONOCE LOS RAZONAMIENTOS de los sabios, LOS CUALES SON INUTILES.

21 Así que nadie se jacte en los hombres, porque todo es vuestro:

22 ya sea Pablo, o Apolos, o Cefas, o el mundo, o la vida, o la muerte, o lo presente, o lo por venir, todo es vuestro,

23 y vosotros de Cristo, y Cristo de Dios.

1 And I, brethren, might not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to fleshly men [but as to fleshly]; as to little children in Christ,

2 I gave to you milk to drink, not meat; for ye might not yet understand, neither ye be able to now [but neither now soothly ye be able],

3 for yet ye be fleshly. For while envy and strife is among you, whether ye be not fleshly, and ye go after man?

4 For when some saith, I am of Paul, and another, But I am of Apollos [another forsooth, I am of Apollos], whether ye be not [fleshly] men?

5 What therefore is Apollos, and what Paul? They be ministers of him, to whom ye have believed; and to each man as God hath given.

6 I planted, Apollos moisted [Apollos watered, or moisted], but God gave increasing.

7 Therefore [And so] neither he that planteth is any thing, neither he that moisteth, but God that giveth increasing.

8 And he that planteth, and he that moisteth, be one; and each shall take his own meed, after his travail.

9 For we be the helpers of God; ye be the earth-tilling of God, ye be the building of God.

10 After the grace of God that is given to me, as a wise master carpenter I setted the foundament [I set the foundament]; and another buildeth above. But each man see, how he buildeth above [how and what things he buildeth upon].

11 For no man may set another foundament, except that that is set [besides that that is set], which is Christ Jesus.

12 For if any man buildeth over this foundament, gold, silver, precious stones, sticks, hay, or stubble, [Forsooth if any man build upon this foundament, gold, silver, precious stones, sticks, hay, stubble,]

13 every man's work shall be open; for the day of the Lord shall declare, for it shall be showed in fire; the fire shall prove the work of each man, what manner work it is [what manner it is].

14 If the work of any man dwell still, which he builded above [which he builded upon], he shall receive meed.

15 If any man's work burn, he shall suffer harm [If any man's work shall burn, he shall suffer impairing]; but he shall be safe, so nevertheless as by fire.

16 Know ye not, that ye be the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 And if any [man] defouleth the temple of God, God shall destroy him [God shall lose him]; for the temple of God is holy, which ye be.

18 No man deceive himself. If any man among you is seen to be wise in this world, be he made a fool, that he be wise.

19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God; for it is written, I shall catch wise men in their fell wisdom [I shall catch wise men in their fell wisdom, or subtle guile];

20 and again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of wise men, for those be vain [for they be vain].

21 Therefore no man have glory in men [And so no man glory in men]. For all things be yours,

22 either Paul, either Apollos, either Cephas, either the world, either life, either death, either things present, either things to coming [either things to come]; for all things be yours,

23 and ye be of Christ, and Christ is of God.
