1 Mas su casa <I>la</I> edificó Salomón en trece años, y la acabó toda.

2 Y asimismo edificó la casa del bosque del Líbano, la cual tenía cien codos de longitud, y cincuenta codos de anchura, y treinta codos de altura, sobre cuatro órdenes de columnas de cedro, con vigas de cedro sobre las columnas.

3 Y estaba cubierta de tablas de cedro arriba sobre las vigas, que se apoyaban en cuarenta y cinco columnas; cada hilera tenía quince columnas.

4 Las ventanas <I>estaban</I> por tres órdenes, una ventana contra la otra por tres órdenes.

5 Y todas la puertas y postes <I>eran</I> cuadrados; y unas ventanas estaban frente a las otras en tres órdenes.

6 También hizo un portal de columnas, que tenía de largo cincuenta codos, y treinta codos de ancho; y aquel portal <I>estaba</I> delante de aquellas otras, con sus columnas y maderos correspondientes.

7 Hizo asimismo el portal del trono en que había de juzgar, <I>que es</I> el portal del juicio, y lo vistió de cedro de suelo a suelo.

8 Y en la casa en que él moraba, había otra sala dentro del portal, de obra semejante a ésta. Edificó también Salomón una casa para la hija de Faraón, que había tomado <I>por mujer</I> , de la misma obra de aquel portal.

9 Todas aquellas <I>obras fueron</I> de piedras de precio, cortadas y aserradas con sierras según las medidas, así por dentro como por fuera, desde el cimiento hasta las vigas, y <I>asimismo</I> por fuera hasta el gran atrio.

10 El cimiento <I>era</I> de piedras de precio, de piedras grandes, de piedras de diez codos, y de piedras de ocho codos.

11 De allí arriba <I>eran también</I> piedras de precio, labradas conforme a sus medidas, y <I>obra de</I> cedro.

12 Y en el gran atrio alrededor había tres órdenes de piedras labradas, y un orden de vigas de cedro; y <I>así</I> el atrio interior de la Casa del SEÑOR, y el atrio de la Casa.

13 Y envió el rey Salomón, e hizo venir de Tiro a Hiram,

14 el cual era hijo de una viuda de la tribu de Neftalí, y su padre había sido de Tiro; que labraba en bronce, lleno de sabiduría y de inteligencia y saber en toda obra de bronce. Este pues vino al rey Salomón, e hizo toda su obra.

15 Este hizo dos columnas de bronce, la altura de <I>cada</I> cual era de dieciocho codos; y rodeaba a una <I>y a otra</I> columna un hilo de doce codos.

16 Hizo también dos capiteles de fundición de bronce, para que fuesen puestos sobre las cabezas de las columnas; la altura de un capitel era de cinco codos, y la del otro capitel de cinco codos.

17 <I>E hizo unas</I> trenzas a manera de red, y unas cintas a manera de cadenas, para los capiteles que <I>se habían de poner</I> sobre las cabezas de las columnas; siete para cada capitel.

18 Y cuando hubo hecho las columnas, hizo también dos órdenes <I>de granadas</I> alrededor en el enredado, para cubrir los capiteles que estaban en las cabezas <I>de las columnas</I> con las granadas; y de la misma forma hizo en el otro capitel.

19 Los capiteles que <I>estaban</I> sobre las columnas tenían forma de flores <I>como las que se veían</I> en el portal, por cuatro codos.

20 Los capiteles <I>que estaban</I> sobre las dos columnas tenían también doscientas granadas en dos órdenes alrededor en cada capitel, encima del vientre del capitel, el cual vientre estaba delante del enredado.

21 Estas columnas puso enhiestas en el portal del templo. Y cuando hubo enhestado la columna de la mano derecha, le puso por nombre Jaquín (<I>El SEÑOR establece</I> ); y enhestando la columna de la mano izquierda, le puso su nombre Boaz (<I>Solo en El hay fortaleza</I> ).

22 En las cabezas de las columnas <I>había una</I> obra de lirios; y <I>así</I> se acabó la obra de las columnas.

23 Hizo asimismo un mar de fundición, de diez codos de un lado al otro, perfectamente redondo; su altura era de cinco codos, y lo ceñía alrededor un cordón de treinta codos.

24 Y cercaban aquel mar por debajo de su labio en derredor unas bolas como calabazas, diez en cada codo, que ceñían el mar alrededor en dos órdenes, las cuales habían sido fundidas cuando él fue fundido.

25 Y estaba <I>asentado</I> sobre doce bueyes; tres miraban al norte, y tres miraban al poniente, y tres miraban al mediodía, y tres miraban al oriente; sobre éstos se apoyaba el mar, y los traseros de ellos estaban hacia la parte de adentro.

26 El grueso del <I>mar</I> era de un palmo, y su labio era labrado como el labio de un cáliz, o de flor de lis; y cabían en él dos mil batos.

27 Hizo también diez basas de bronce, siendo la longitud de cada basa de cuatro codos, y la anchura de cuatro codos, y de tres codos la altura.

28 La obra de las basas era ésta: tenían unas cintas, las cuales <I>estaban</I> entre molduras;

29 y sobre aquellas cintas que <I>estaban</I> entre las molduras, <I>figuras</I> de leones, y de bueyes, y de querubines; y sobre las molduras de la basa, así encima como debajo de los leones y de los bueyes, <I>había unas</I> añadiduras de bajo relieve.

30 Cada basa tenía cuatro ruedas de bronce con mesas de bronce; y en sus cuatro esquinas <I>había unos</I> hombrillos, los cuales <I>nacían</I> de fundición a cada lado de aquellas añadiduras, para estar debajo de la fuente.

31 Su boca entraba en el capitel (<I>en el remate que salía de la basa</I> ) un codo para arriba; y era su boca redonda, de la hechura (<I>del mismo remate</I> ) de la basa, de codo y medio. Había también sobre la boca entalladuras con sus cintas, <I>las cuales eran</I> cuadradas, no redondas.

32 Las cuatro ruedas estaban debajo de las cintas, y los ejes de las ruedas <I>nacían</I> en la misma basa. La altura de cada rueda era de un codo y medio.

33 Y la hechura de las ruedas era como la hechura de las ruedas de <I>un</I> carro; sus ejes, sus rayos, y sus cubos, y sus cinchos, todo era de fundición.

34 Asimismo los cuatro hombrillos a las cuatro esquinas de cada basa; y los hombrillos eran de la misma basa.

35 Y en lo alto de la basa había medio codo de altura redondo por todas partes; y encima de la basa sus molduras y cintas, <I>las cuales eran</I> de ella misma.

36 E hizo en las tablas de las molduras, y en las cintas, entalladuras de querubines, y de leones, y de palmas, delante de las añadiduras de cada una alrededor.

37 De esta forma hizo diez basas fundidas de una misma manera, de una misma medida, y de una misma entalladura.

38 Hizo también diez fuentes de bronce; cada fuente contenía cuarenta batos, y cada una era de cuatro codos; y <I>asentó</I> una fuente sobre cada una de las diez basas.

39 Y puso cinco basas a la mano derecha de la Casa, y las otras cinco a la mano izquierda de la Casa; y asentó el mar al lado derecho de la Casa, al oriente, hacia el mediodía.

40 Asimismo hizo Hiram fuentes, y tenazas, y cuencos. <I>Así</I> acabó toda la obra que hizo a Salomón para la Casa del SEÑOR:

41 <I>Es a saber</I> , dos columnas, y los vasos redondos de los capiteles que <I>estaban</I> en lo alto de las dos columnas; y dos redes que cubrían los dos vasos redondos de los capiteles que <I>estaban</I> sobre la cabeza de las columnas;

42 y cuatrocientas granadas para las dos redes, <I>es a saber</I> , dos órdenes de granadas en cada red, para cubrir los dos vasos redondos que <I>estaban</I> sobre las cabezas de las columnas;

43 y <I>las</I> diez basas, y <I>las</I> diez fuentes sobre las basas;

44 <I>y</I> un mar, y doce bueyes debajo del mar;

45 y calderos, y tenazas, y cuencos; y todos los <I>otros</I> vasos que Hiram hizo al rey Salomón, para la Casa del SEÑOR de bronce bruñido.

46 Todo lo hizo fundir el rey en la llanura del Jordán, en tierra arcillosa, entre Sucot y Saretán.

47 Y dejó Salomón sin inquirir el peso del bronce de todos los vasos, por la grande multitud de ellos.

48 E hizo Salomón todos los vasos que <I>pertenecían</I> a la Casa del SEÑOR; un altar de oro, y una mesa sobre la cual <I>estaban</I> los panes de la proposición, también de oro;

49 y <I>los</I> candeleros de oro purísimo, cinco a la mano derecha, y otros cinco a la izquierda, delante del oratorio; con las flores, y las lámparas, y despabiladeras de oro;

50 asimismo los cántaros, vasos, cuencos, cucharros, e incensarios, de oro purísimo; <I>también</I> de oro los quiciales de las puertas de la Casa de adentro, <I>es a saber</I> del lugar santísimo, y <I>los</I> de las puertas del templo.

51 Así se acabó toda la obra que dispuso hacer el rey Salomón para la Casa del SEÑOR. Y metió Salomón lo que David su padre había dedicado (<I>Heb. las santidades de David</I> ), <I> es a saber</I> , plata, y oro, y vasos, y lo puso <I>todo</I> en guarda en las tesorerías de la Casa del SEÑOR.

1 It took Solomon thirteen years, however, to complete the construction of his palace.

2 He built the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon a hundred cubits long, fifty wide and thirty high, with four rows of cedar columns supporting trimmed cedar beams.

3 It was roofed with cedar above the beams that rested on the columns—forty-five beams, fifteen to a row.

4 Its windows were placed high in sets of three, facing each other.

5 All the doorways had rectangular frames; they were in the front part in sets of three, facing each other.

6 He made a colonnade fifty cubits long and thirty wide. In front of it was a portico, and in front of that were pillars and an overhanging roof.

7 He built the throne hall, the Hall of Justice, where he was to judge, and he covered it with cedar from floor to ceiling.

8 And the palace in which he was to live, set farther back, was similar in design. Solomon also made a palace like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had married.

9 All these structures, from the outside to the great courtyard and from foundation to eaves, were made of blocks of high-grade stone cut to size and smoothed on their inner and outer faces.

10 The foundations were laid with large stones of good quality, some measuring ten cubits and some eight.

11 Above were high-grade stones, cut to size, and cedar beams.

12 The great courtyard was surrounded by a wall of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams, as was the inner courtyard of the temple of the LORD with its portico.

13 King Solomon sent to Tyre and brought Huram,

14 whose mother was a widow from the tribe of Naphtali and whose father was from Tyre and a skilled craftsman in bronze. Huram was filled with wisdom, with understanding and with knowledge to do all kinds of bronze work. He came to King Solomon and did all the work assigned to him.

15 He cast two bronze pillars, each eighteen cubits high and twelve cubits in circumference.

16 He also made two capitals of cast bronze to set on the tops of the pillars; each capital was five cubits high.

17 A network of interwoven chains adorned the capitals on top of the pillars, seven for each capital.

18 He made pomegranates in two rows encircling each network to decorate the capitals on top of the pillars. He did the same for each capital.

19 The capitals on top of the pillars in the portico were in the shape of lilies, four cubits high.

20 On the capitals of both pillars, above the bowl-shaped part next to the network, were the two hundred pomegranates in rows all around.

21 He erected the pillars at the portico of the temple. The pillar to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz.

22 The capitals on top were in the shape of lilies. And so the work on the pillars was completed.

23 He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits high. It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it.

24 Below the rim, gourds encircled it—ten to a cubit. The gourds were cast in two rows in one piece with the Sea.

25 The Sea stood on twelve bulls, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south and three facing east. The Sea rested on top of them, and their hindquarters were toward the center.

26 It was a handbreadth in thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held two thousand baths.

27 He also made ten movable stands of bronze; each was four cubits long, four wide and three high.

28 This is how the stands were made: They had side panels attached to uprights.

29 On the panels between the uprights were lions, bulls and cherubim—and on the uprights as well. Above and below the lions and bulls were wreaths of hammered work.

30 Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles, and each had a basin resting on four supports, cast with wreaths on each side.

31 On the inside of the stand there was an opening that had a circular frame one cubit deep. This opening was round, and with its basework it measured a cubit and a half. Around its opening there was engraving. The panels of the stands were square, not round.

32 The four wheels were under the panels, and the axles of the wheels were attached to the stand. The diameter of each wheel was a cubit and a half.

33 The wheels were made like chariot wheels; the axles, rims, spokes and hubs were all of cast metal.

34 Each stand had four handles, one on each corner, projecting from the stand.

35 At the top of the stand there was a circular band half a cubit deep. The supports and panels were attached to the top of the stand.

36 He engraved cherubim, lions and palm trees on the surfaces of the supports and on the panels, in every available space, with wreaths all around.

37 This is the way he made the ten stands. They were all cast in the same molds and were identical in size and shape.

38 He then made ten bronze basins, each holding forty baths and measuring four cubits across, one basin to go on each of the ten stands.

39 He placed five of the stands on the south side of the temple and five on the north. He placed the Sea on the south side, at the southeast corner of the temple.

40 He also made the pots and shovels and sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished all the work he had undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of the LORD:

41 the two pillars; the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the two sets of network decorating the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars;

42 the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of network (two rows of pomegranates for each network decorating the bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars);

43 the ten stands with their ten basins;

44 the Sea and the twelve bulls under it;

45 the pots, shovels and sprinkling bowls. All these objects that Huram made for King Solomon for the temple of the LORD were of burnished bronze.

46 The king had them cast in clay molds in the plain of the Jordan between Sukkoth and Zarethan.

47 Solomon left all these things unweighed, because there were so many; the weight of the bronze was not determined.

48 Solomon also made all the furnishings that were in the LORD’s temple: the golden altar; the golden table on which was the bread of the Presence;

49 the lampstands of pure gold (five on the right and five on the left, in front of the inner sanctuary); the gold floral work and lamps and tongs;

50 the pure gold basins, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, dishes and censers; and the gold sockets for the doors of the innermost room, the Most Holy Place, and also for the doors of the main hall of the temple.

51 When all the work King Solomon had done for the temple of the LORD was finished, he brought in the things his father David had dedicated—the silver and gold and the furnishings—and he placed them in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple.
