2 Corintios 1

1 Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por la voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Timoteo: A la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, con todos los santos que están en toda Acaya:

2 Gracia y paz a vosotros, de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

3 Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Padre de misericordias y Dios de toda consolación,

4 el cual nos consuela en toda tribulación nuestra, para que nosotros podamos consolar a los que están en cualquier aflicción con el consuelo con que nosotros mismos somos consolados por Dios.

5 Porque así como los sufrimientos de Cristo son nuestros en abundancia, así también abunda nuestro consuelo por medio de Cristo.

6 Pero si somos atribulados, es para vuestro consuelo y salvación; o si somos consolados, es para vuestro consuelo, que obra al soportar las mismas aflicciones que nosotros también sufrimos.

7 Y nuestra esperanza respecto de vosotros está firmemente establecida, sabiendo que como sois copartícipes de los sufrimientos, así también lo sois de la consolación.

8 Porque no queremos que ignoréis, hermanos, acerca de nuestra aflicción sufrida en Asia, porque fuimos abrumados sobremanera, más allá de nuestras fuerzas, de modo que hasta perdimos la esperanza de salir con vida.

9 De hecho, dentro de nosotros mismos ya teníamos la sentencia de muerte, a fin de que no confiáramos en nosotros mismos, sino en Dios que resucita a los muertos,

10 el cual nos libró de tan gran peligro de muerte y nos librará, y en quien hemos puesto nuestra esperanza de que El aún nos ha de librar,

11 cooperando también vosotros con nosotros con la oración, para que por muchas personas sean dadas gracias a favor nuestro por el don que nos ha sido impartido por medio de las oraciones de muchos.

12 Porque nuestra satisfacción es ésta: el testimonio de nuestra conciencia que en la santidad y en la sinceridad que viene de Dios, no en sabiduría carnal sino en la gracia de Dios, nos hemos conducido en el mundo y especialmente hacia vosotros.

13 Porque ninguna otra cosa os escribimos sino lo que leéis y entendéis, y espero que entenderéis hasta el fin,

14 así como también nos habéis entendido en parte, que nosotros somos el motivo de vuestra gloria, así como también vosotros la nuestra en el día de nuestro Señor Jesús.

15 Y con esta confianza me propuse ir primero a vosotros para que dos veces recibierais bendición ,

16 es decir, quería visitaros de paso a Macedonia, y de Macedonia ir de nuevo a vosotros y ser encaminado por vosotros en mi viaje a Judea.

17 Por tanto, cuando me propuse esto, ¿acaso obré precipitadamente? O lo que me propongo, ¿me lo propongo conforme a la carne, para que en mí haya al mismo tiempo el sí, sí, y el no, no?

18 Pero como Dios es fiel, nuestra palabra a vosotros no es sí y no.

19 Porque el Hijo de Dios, Cristo Jesús, que fue predicado entre vosotros por nosotros (por mí y Silvano y Timoteo) no fue sí y no, sino que ha sido sí en El.

20 Pues tantas como sean las promesas de Dios, en El todas son sí; por eso también por medio de El, Amén, para la gloria de Dios por medio de nosotros.

21 Ahora bien, el que nos confirma con vosotros en Cristo, y el que nos ungió, es Dios,

22 quien también nos selló y nos dio el Espíritu en nuestro corazón como garantía.

23 Mas yo invoco a Dios como testigo sobre mi alma, que por ser indulgente con vosotros no he vuelto a Corinto.

24 No es que nos enseñoreemos de vuestra fe, sino que somos colaboradores con vosotros para vuestro gozo; porque en la fe permanecéis firmes.

1 Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timothy, brother, to the church of God that is at Corinth, with all saints that be in all Achaia,

2 grace to you, and peace of God our Father and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Father of mercies, and God of all comfort,

4 which comforteth us in all our tribulation, that also we be able to comfort them, that be in all dis-ease, by the admonishing by which also we be admonished of God [that and we may comfort them, that be in all pressure, or overlaying, by the exhortation, or admonishing, by which and we be admonished of God].

5 For as the passions of Christ be plenteous in us, so also by Christ our comfort is plenteous.

6 And whether we be in tribulation, for your tribulation and health, either we be comforted, for your comfort [+Forsooth whether we be troubled, or be pursued, it is for your teaching and health, or we be comforted, for your comfort], either we be admonished, for your admonishing and health. Which worketh in you the suffering of the same passions, which also we suffer,

7 that our hope be firm for you; witting for as ye be fellows of passions, so ye shall be also of comfort.

8 For, brethren, we will that ye know of our tribulation, that was done in Asia; for over measure we were grieved over might, so that it distressed us, yea, to live. [+Forsooth, brethren, we will not you to unknow of our tribulation, that was done in Asia; for over measure we were grieved above virtue, or might, so that it distressed us, yea, to live.]

9 But we in us selves had answer of death, that we trust not in us, but in God that raiseth dead men. [But we ourselves in ourselves had answer, or certainty, of death, that we be not trusting in ourselves, but in God that raiseth dead men.]

10 Which delivered us, and delivereth from so great perils, into whom we hope, also yet he shall deliver,

11 while also ye help in prayer for us [helping and you in prayer for us]; that of the persons of many faces of that giving that is in us, thankings be done for us by many men to God [by many partners, graces, or thanks, be done to God for us].

12 For our glory is this, the witnessing of our conscience, that in simpleness and cleanness of God, and not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we lived in this world, but more plenteously to you.

13 And we write not other things to you, than those that ye have read and know, and I hope that into the end ye shall know,

14 as also ye have known us a part [as and ye have known us of part]; for we be your glory, as also ye be ours in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 And in this trusting I would first come to you, that ye should have the second grace,

16 and pass by you into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia come to you, and of you be led into Judaea.

17 But when I would this thing, whether I used unsteadfastness, either those things that I think, I think after the flesh, that at me be, it is and it is not? [+Forsooth when I would this thing, whether I used lightness, either unsteadfastness, or those things that I think, I think after the flesh, that there be at me, is and not, or, yea and nay?]

18 But God is true, for our word that was at you, is and is not, is not therein, but is is in it. [+Forsooth God is true, for our word that was at you, there is not in it, yea and nay/there is not in it, is and nay, but is, that is truth, is in it.]

19 For why Jesus Christ, the Son of God, which is preached among you by us, by me, and Silvanus, and Timothy, there was not in him, is and is not, but is was in him [+there was not in him, is and nay, but in him was is /there was not in him, yea and nay, but yea in him was].

20 For why how many ever be promises of God, in that is, be fulfilled [Forsooth how many ever be promises of God, in him is, that is, in him they be fulfilled]. And therefore by him we say Amen to God, to our glory.

21 Soothly it is God that confirmeth us with you in Christ, and which anointed us, [The which soothly confirmeth us with you in Christ, and the which God anointed us,]

22 and which marked us [and that marked us], and gave earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

23 For I call God to witness against my soul [Forsooth I in-call God witness into my soul], that I sparing you came not over to Corinth;

24 not that we be lords of your faith [not for we be lords of your faith], but we be helpers of your joy; for through belief ye stand.
