1 Saludos de Pablo<br />Yo, Pablo, elegido por la voluntad de Dios para ser apóstol de Cristo Jesús, y nuestro hermano Timoteo

2 les escribimos esta carta a los fieles hermanos en Cristo que conforman el pueblo santo de Dios en la ciudad de Colosas.<br />Que Dios nuestro Padre les dé gracia y paz.

3 Oración y agradecimiento de Pablo<br />Siempre oramos por ustedes y le damos gracias a Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

4 porque hemos oído de su fe en Cristo Jesús y del amor que tienen por todo el pueblo de Dios.

5 Ambas cosas provienen de la firme esperanza puesta en lo que Dios les ha reservado en el cielo. Ustedes han tenido esa esperanza desde la primera vez que escucharon la verdad de la Buena Noticia.

6 Esa misma Buena Noticia que llegó a ustedes ahora corre por todo el mundo. Da fruto en todas partes mediante el cambio de vida que produce, así como les cambió la vida a ustedes desde el día que oyeron y entendieron por primera vez la verdad de la maravillosa gracia de Dios.

7 Ustedes se enteraron de la Buena Noticia por medio de Epafras, nuestro amado colaborador; él es un fiel servidor de Cristo y nos ayuda en nombre de ustedes.

8 Nos contó del amor por los demás que el Espíritu Santo les ha dado.

9 Así que, desde que supimos de ustedes, no dejamos de tenerlos presentes en nuestras oraciones. Le pedimos a Dios que les dé pleno conocimiento de su voluntad y que les conceda sabiduría y comprensión espiritual.

10 Entonces la forma en que vivan siempre honrará y agradará al Señor, y sus vidas producirán toda clase de buenos frutos. Mientras tanto, irán creciendo a medida que aprendan a conocer a Dios más y más.

11 También pedimos que se fortalezcan con todo el glorioso poder de Dios para que tengan toda la constancia y la paciencia que necesitan. Mi deseo es que estén llenos de alegría

12 y den siempre gracias al Padre. Él los hizo aptos para que participen de la herencia que pertenece a su pueblo, el cual vive en la luz.

13 Pues él nos rescató del reino de la oscuridad y nos trasladó al reino de su Hijo amado,

14 quien compró nuestra libertad<br /> y perdonó nuestros pecados.

15 Cristo es supremo<br />Cristo es la imagen visible del Dios invisible.<br />Él ya existía antes de que las cosas fueran creadas y es supremo sobre toda la creación

16 porque, por medio de él, Dios creó todo lo que existe<br />en los lugares celestiales y en la tierra.<br />Hizo las cosas que podemos ver<br />y las que no podemos ver,<br />tales como tronos, reinos, gobernantes y autoridades del mundo invisible.<br />Todo fue creado por medio de él y para él.

17 Él ya existía antes de todas las cosas<br />y mantiene unida toda la creación.

18 Cristo también es la cabeza de la iglesia,<br />la cual es su cuerpo.<br />Él es el principio,<br />es supremo sobre todos los que se levantan de los muertos.<br />Así que él es el primero en todo.

19 Pues a Dios, en toda su plenitud,<br />le agradó vivir en Cristo,

20 y por medio de él, Dios reconcilió consigo<br />todas las cosas.<br />Hizo la paz con todo lo que existe en el cielo y en la tierra,<br />por medio de la sangre de Cristo en la cruz.

21 Eso los incluye a ustedes, que antes estaban lejos de Dios. Eran sus enemigos, estaban separados de él por sus malos pensamientos y acciones;

22 pero ahora él los reconcilió consigo mediante la muerte de Cristo en su cuerpo físico. Como resultado, los ha trasladado a su propia presencia, y ahora ustedes son santos, libres de culpa y pueden presentarse delante de él sin ninguna falta.

23 Pero deben seguir creyendo esa verdad y mantenerse firmes en ella. No se alejen de la seguridad que recibieron cuando oyeron la Buena Noticia. Esa Buena Noticia ha sido predicada por todo el mundo, y yo, Pablo, fui designado servidor de Dios para proclamarla.

24 Trabajo de Pablo por la iglesia<br />Me alegro cuando sufro en carne propia por ustedes, porque así participo de los sufrimientos de Cristo, que continúan a favor de su cuerpo, que es la iglesia.

25 Dios me ha dado la responsabilidad de servir a su iglesia mediante la proclamación de todo su mensaje a ustedes.

26 Este mensaje se mantuvo en secreto durante siglos y generaciones, pero ahora se dio a conocer al pueblo de Dios.

27 Pues él quería que su pueblo supiera que las riquezas y la gloria de Cristo también son para ustedes, los gentiles.<br /> Y el secreto es: Cristo vive en ustedes. Eso les da la seguridad de que participarán de su gloria.

28 Por lo tanto, hablamos a otros de Cristo, advertimos a todos y enseñamos a todos con toda la sabiduría que Dios nos ha dado. Queremos presentarlos a Dios perfectos<br /> en su relación con Cristo.

29 Es por eso que trabajo y lucho con tanto empeño, apoyado en el gran poder de Cristo que actúa dentro de mí.

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

2 To God’s holy people in Colossae, the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ: Grace and peace to you from God our Father.

3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,

4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people—

5 the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel

6 that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.

7 You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf,

8 and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.

9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,

10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,

12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,

14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.

22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

24 Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness—

26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people.

27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.

29 To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.
