1 Hijos, obedeced a vuestros padres en el Señor, porque esto es justo.

2 HONRA A TU PADRE Y A tu MADRE (que es el primer mandamiento con promesa),

3 PARA QUE TE VAYA BIEN, Y PARA QUE TENGAS LARGA VIDA SOBRE LA TIERRA.

4 Y vosotros, padres, no provoquéis a ira a vuestros hijos, sino criadlos en la disciplina e instrucción del Señor.

5 Siervos, obedeced a vuestros amos en la tierra, con temor y temblor, con la sinceridad de vuestro corazón, como a Cristo;

6 no para ser vistos, como los que quieren agradar a los hombres, sino como siervos de Cristo, haciendo de corazón la voluntad de Dios.

7 Servid de buena voluntad, como al Señor y no a los hombres,

8 sabiendo que cualquier cosa buena que cada uno haga, esto recibirá del Señor, sea siervo o sea libre.

9 Y vosotros, amos, haced lo mismo con ellos, y dejad las amenazas, sabiendo que el Señor de ellos y de vosotros está en los cielos, y que para El no hay acepción de personas.

10 Por lo demás, fortaleceos en el Señor y en el poder de su fuerza.

11 Revestíos con toda la armadura de Dios para que podáis estar firmes contra las insidias del diablo.

12 Porque nuestra lucha no es contra sangre y carne, sino contra principados, contra potestades, contra los poderes de este mundo de tinieblas, contra las huestes espirituales de maldad en las regiones celestes.

13 Por tanto, tomad toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis resistir en el día malo, y habiéndolo hecho todo, estar firmes.

14 Estad, pues, firmes, CEÑIDA VUESTRA CINTURA CON LA VERDAD, REVESTIDOS CON LA CORAZA DE LA JUSTICIA,

15 y calzados LOS PIES CON EL APRESTO DEL EVANGELIO DE LA PAZ;

16 en todo, tomando el escudo de la fe con el que podréis apagar todos los dardos encendidos del maligno.

17 Tomad también el YELMO DE LA SALVACION, y la espada del Espíritu que es la palabra de Dios.

18 Con toda oración y súplica orad en todo tiempo en el Espíritu, y así, velad con toda perseverancia y súplica por todos los santos;

19 y orad por mí, para que me sea dada palabra al abrir mi boca, a fin de dar a conocer sin temor el misterio del evangelio,

20 por el cual soy embajador en cadenas; que al proclamarlo hable con denuedo, como debo hablar.

21 Pero a fin de que también vosotros sepáis mi situación y lo que hago, todo os lo hará saber Tíquico, amado hermano y fiel ministro en el Señor,

22 a quien he enviado a vosotros precisamente para esto, para que sepáis de nosotros y para que consuele vuestros corazones.

23 Paz sea a los hermanos, y amor con fe de Dios el Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

24 La gracia sea con todos los que aman a nuestro Señor Jesucristo con amor incorruptible.

1 Sons, obey ye to your father and mother, in the Lord; for this thing is rightful [for this thing is just, or rightful].

2 Honour thou thy father and mother, that is the first commandment in [the] promise;

3 that it be well to thee, and that thou be long living on the earth.

4 And, [ye] fathers, do not ye provoke your sons to wrath; but nourish ye them in the teaching and chastising of the Lord [but nourish them in the discipline and correction, or chastising, of the Lord].

5 Servants, obey ye to fleshly lords with dread and trembling, in simpleness of your heart, as to Christ;

6 not serving at the eye [not serving at eye], as pleasing to men, but as servants of Christ; doing the will of God by discretion,

7 with good will serving as to the Lord, and not as to men [and not to men];

8 witting that each man, whatever good thing he shall do, he shall receive this of the Lord [this he shall receive of the Lord], whether servant, whether free man.

9 And, ye lords, do the same things to them, forgiving menacings [forgiving menaces]; witting that both their Lord and yours is in heavens, and the taking of persons is not with God.

10 Here afterward, brethren, be ye comforted in the Lord, and in the might of his virtue.

11 Clothe you with the armour of God, that ye be able to stand against the ambushings [the ambushings, or assailings,] of the devil.

12 For why striving is not to us against flesh and blood [For striving, or battle, is not to us against flesh and blood], but against [the] princes and potentates, against governors of the world of these darknesses, against spiritual things of wickedness, in heavenly things.

13 Therefore take ye the armour of God, that ye be able to against-stand in the evil day; and in all things stand perfect.

14 Therefore stand ye, and be girded about your loins in soothfastness [Therefore stand ye, girded about your loins in soothfastness], and clothed with the habergeon of rightwiseness,

15 and your feet shod in making ready of the gospel of peace.

16 In all things take ye the shield of faith, in which ye be able to quench all the fiery darts of him that is most wicked. [+In all things taking the shield of faith, in which ye be able to quench all the fiery darts of the worst.]

17 And take ye the helmet of health, and the sword of the Ghost, that is, the word of God.

19 and for me; that word be given to me in opening of my mouth, with trust to make known the mystery of the gospel,

21 And [that] ye know, what things be about me, what I do, Tychicus, my most dear brother, and true minister in the Lord, shall make all things known to you;

22 whom I sent to you for this same thing, that ye know what things be about us, and that he comfort your hearts.

23 Peace to brethren, and charity, with faith of God our Father, and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Grace with all men that love our Lord Jesus Christ in uncorruption. Amen, that is, So be it. [Grace with all that love our Lord Jesus in uncorruption. Amen.]
