1 Poi Dio disse a Mosè: "Sali all’Eterno tu ed Aaronne, Nadab e Abihu e settanta degli anziani d’Israele, e adorate da lungi;

4 And He said unto Moshe, Come up unto Hashem, thou, and Aharon, Nadav, and Avihu, and shive’im (seventy) of the Ziknei Yisroel; and worship ye afar off.
2 poi Mosè solo s’accosterà all’Eterno; ma gli altri non s’accosteranno, né salirà il popolo con lui".

And Moshe alone shall come near Hashem; but they shall not come near; neither shall HaAm go up with him.
3 E Mosè venne e riferì al popolo tutte le parole dell’Eterno e tutte le leggi. E tutto il popolo rispose ad una voce e disse: "Noi faremo tutte le cose che l’Eterno ha dette".

And Moshe came and told HaAm kol divrei Hashem, and all the mishpatim; and kol HaAm answered with one voice, and said, All the words which Hashem hath said will we do.
4 Poi Mosè scrisse tutte le parole dell’Eterno; e, levatosi di buon’ora la mattina, eresse appiè del monte un altare e dodici pietre per le dodici tribù d’Israele.

And Moshe wrote kol divrei Hashem, and rose up early in the boker, and built a Mizbe’ach at the base of HaHar, and twelve matzevah (stone pillars), according to the twelve Shivtei Yisroel.
5 E mandò dei giovani tra i figliuoli d’Israele a offrire olocausti e a immolare giovenchi come sacrifizi di azioni di grazie all’Eterno.

And he sent out na’arei Bnei Yisroel, which offered olot (burnt offerings), and sacrificed shelamim (peace offerings) of bulls unto Hashem.
6 E Mosè prese la metà del sangue e lo mise in bacini; e l’altra metà la sparse sull’altare.

And Moshe took half of the dahm, and put it in bowls; and the other half of the dahm he sprinkled upon the Mizbe’ach.
7 Poi prese il libro del patto e lo lesse in presenza del popolo, il quale disse: "Noi faremo tutto quello che l’Eterno ha detto, e ubbidiremo".

Then he took the Sefer HaBrit, and read it aloud in the ears of HaAm, and they responded, All that Hashem hath said we will do, and be obedient.
8 Allora Mosè prese il sangue, ne asperse il popolo e disse: "Ecco il sangue del patto che l’Eterno ha fatto con voi sul fondamento di tutte queste parole".

And Moshe took the remaining dahm, and sprinkled it on HaAm, and said, Hinei dahm habrit, which Hashem hath cut with you concerning all these words.
9 Poi Mosè ed Aaronne, Nadab e Abihu e settanta degli anziani d’Israele salirono,

Then went up Moshe, and Aharon, Nadav, and Avihu, and shiv’im Ziknei Yisroel;
10 e videro l’Iddio d’Israele. Sotto i suoi piedi c’era come un pavimento lavorato in trasparente zaffiro, e simile, per limpidezza, al cielo stesso.

And they saw the Elohei Yisroel; and there was under His feet the likeness of sapphire stone pavement, and like the very Shomayim in its clearness.
11 Ed egli non mise la mano addosso a quegli eletti tra i figliuoli d’Israele; ma essi videro Iddio, e mangiarono e bevvero.

And against the leaders of the Bnei Yisroel He laid not His yad; also they saw HaElohim, and did eat and drink.
12 E l’Eterno disse a Mosè: "Sali da me sul monte, e fermati quivi; e io ti darò delle tavole di pietra, la legge e i comandamenti che ho scritti, perché siano insegnati ai figliuoli d’Israele".

And Hashem said unto Moshe, Come up to Me into HaHar, and remain there; and I will give thee the Luchot HaEven, and the torah, and the mitzvot which I have written to teach them.
13 Mosè dunque si levò con Giosuè suo ministro; e Mosè salì sul monte di Dio.

And Moshe rose up, and Yehoshua meshareto (the one aiding him, the one ministering to him); and Moshe went up into the Har HaElohim.
14 E disse agli anziani: "Aspettateci qui, finché torniamo a voi. Ecco, Aaronne e Hur sono con voi; chiunque abbia qualche affare si rivolga a loro".

And he said unto the Zekenim, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you; and, hinei, Aharon and Chur are with you; if any man have a grievance, let him come unto them.
15 Mosè dunque salì sul monte, e la nuvola ricoperse il monte.

And Moshe went up into HaHar, and an anan concealed HaHar.
16 E la gloria dell’Eterno rimase sui monte Sinai e la nuvola lo coperse per sei giorni; e il settimo giorno l’Eterno chiamò Mosè di mezzo alla nuvola.

And the Kevod Hashem abode upon Mt. Sinai, and the anan concealed it sheshet yamim; and the yom hashevi’i He called unto Moshe out of the midst of the anan.
17 E l’aspetto della gloria dell’Eterno era agli occhi de’ figliuoli d’Israele come un fuoco divorante sulla cima del monte.

And the sight of the Kevod Hashem was like eish ochelet (devouring fire) on the top of HaHar in the eyes of the Bnei Yisroel.
18 E Mosè entrò in mezzo alla nuvola e salì sul monte; e Mosè rimase sul monto quaranta giorni e quaranta notti.

And Moshe went into the midst of the anan, going up into HaHar; and Moshe was in HaHar arba’im yom v’arba’im lailah.
