NAS 1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, NIV 1 Then the LORD said to Moses: NAS 2 "On the first day of the first month you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. NIV 2 “Set up the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, on the first day of the first month. NAS 3 "You shall place the ark of the testimony there, and you shall screen the ark with the veil. NAS 4 "You shall bring in the table and arrange what belongs on it; and you shall bring in the lampstand and mount its lamps. NIV 4 Bring in the table and set out what belongs on it. Then bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps. NAS 5 "Moreover, you shall set the gold altar of incense before the ark of the testimony, and set up the veil for the doorway to the tabernacle. NIV 5 Place the gold altar of incense in front of the ark of the covenant law and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. NAS 6 "You shall set the altar of burnt offering in front of the doorway of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. NIV 6 “Place the altar of burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting; NAS 7 "You shall set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it. NIV 7 place the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it. NAS 8 "You shall set up the court all around and hang up the veil for the gateway of the court. NIV 8 Set up the courtyard around it and put the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. NAS 9 "Then you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and shall consecrate it and all its furnishings; and it shall be holy. NIV 9 “Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy. NAS 10 "You shall anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar, and the altar shall be most holy. NIV 10 Then anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils; consecrate the altar, and it will be most holy. NAS 11 "You shall anoint the laver and its stand, and consecrate it. NIV 11 Anoint the basin and its stand and consecrate them. NAS 12 "Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting and wash them with water. NIV 12 “Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water. NAS 13 "You shall put the holy garments on Aaron and anoint him and consecrate him, that he may minister as a priest to Me. NIV 13 Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest. NAS 14 "You shall bring his sons and put tunics on them; NIV 14 Bring his sons and dress them in tunics. NAS 15 and you shall anoint them even as you have anointed their father, that they may minister as priests to Me; and their anointing will qualify them for a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations." NIV 15 Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so they may serve me as priests. Their anointing will be to a priesthood that will continue throughout their generations.” NAS 16 Thus Moses did; according to all that the LORD had commanded him, so he did. NIV 16 Moses did everything just as the LORD commanded him. NAS 17 Now in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was erected. NIV 17 So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month in the second year. NAS 18 Moses erected the tabernacle and laid its sockets, and set up its boards, and inserted its bars and erected its pillars. NIV 18 When Moses set up the tabernacle, he put the bases in place, erected the frames, inserted the crossbars and set up the posts. NAS 19 He spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 19 Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering over the tent, as the LORD commanded him. NAS 20 Then he took the testimony and put it into the ark, and attached the poles to the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark. NIV 20 He took the tablets of the covenant law and placed them in the ark, attached the poles to the ark and put the atonement cover over it. NAS 21 He brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up a veil for the screen, and screened off the ark of the testimony, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 21 Then he brought the ark into the tabernacle and hung the shielding curtain and shielded the ark of the covenant law, as the LORD commanded him. NAS 22 Then he put the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil. NIV 22 Moses placed the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tabernacle outside the curtain NAS 23 He set the arrangement of bread in order on it before the LORD , just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 23 and set out the bread on it before the LORD, as the LORD commanded him. NAS 24 Then he placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the tabernacle. NIV 24 He placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle NAS 25 He lighted the lamps before the LORD , just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 25 and set up the lamps before the LORD, as the LORD commanded him. NAS 26 Then he placed the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the veil; NIV 26 Moses placed the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the curtain NAS 27 and he burned fragrant incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 27 and burned fragrant incense on it, as the LORD commanded him. NAS 28 Then he set up the veil for the doorway of the tabernacle. NIV 28 Then he put up the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. NAS 29 He set the altar of burnt offering before the doorway of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the meal offering, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 29 He set the altar of burnt offering near the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered on it burnt offerings and grain offerings, as the LORD commanded him. NAS 30 He placed the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing. NIV 30 He placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing, NAS 31 From it Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet. NIV 31 and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet. NAS 32 When they entered the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 32 They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar, as the LORD commanded Moses. NAS 33 He erected the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung up the veil for the gateway of the court. Thus Moses finished the work. NIV 33 Then Moses set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and altar and put up the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. And so Moses finished the work. NAS 34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. NIV 34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. NAS 35 Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. NIV 35 Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. NAS 36 Throughout all their journeys whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out; NIV 36 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; NAS 37 but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up. NIV 37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted. NAS 38 For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel. NIV 38 So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.
