1 Ed egli mi disse: Figliuol d’uomo, rizzati in piè, ed io parlerò teco.

2 E quando egli mi ebbe parlato, lo Spirito entrò in me, e mi rizzò in piè; ed io udii colui che parlava a me.

3 Il qual mi disse: Figliuol d’uomo, io ti mando a’ figliuoli d’Israele, a nazioni ribelli, che si son ribellate contro a me: essi, e i lor padri, hanno misfatto contro a me, infino a questo stesso giorno.

4 Anzi ti mando a’ figliuoli di fronte dura, e di cuore ostinato; acciocchè tu dica a loro: Così ha detto il Signore Iddio.

5 E che che sia, o che ti ascoltino, o che se ne rimangano perciocchè sono una casa ribelle, sì sapranno che vi sarà stato un profeta in mezzo di loro.

6 E tu, figliuol d’uomo, non temer di loro, nè delle lor parole; perciocchè tu hai appresso di te degli uomini ritrosi, e delle spine; e tu abiti per mezzo di scorpioni; non temer delle lor parole, e non isgomentarti della lor presenza; perciocchè sono una casa ribelle.

7 E pronunzia loro le mie parole, che che sia, o che ti ascoltino, o che se ne rimangano; perciocchè son ribelli.

8 Ma tu, figliuol d’uomo, ascolta ciò che io ti dico; non esser ribelle, come questa casa ribelle; apri la bocca, e mangia ciò che io ti do.

9 Ed io riguardai, ed ecco una mano, ch’era mandata a me; ed ecco, in essa vi era il rotolo di un libro.

10 E quella lo spiegò in mia presenza; ed esso era scritto dentro, e di fuori; e in esso erano scritti lamenti, e rammarichii e guai.

1 He said to me, "Son of man, stand up, and I will speak to you."

2 As he spoke to me, the Spirit entered me, stood me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

3 He said to me, "Son of man, I am sending you to the people of Israel. They are people from a nation that has rebelled against me. They and their ancestors have rebelled against me to this day.

4 I am sending you to these defiant and stubborn children. Tell them, 'This is what the Almighty LORD says.'

5 Whether these rebellious people listen or not, they will realize that a prophet has been among them.

6 Son of man, don't be afraid of them or the things they say. Don't be afraid, even though thorns and thistles are around you and you live among scorpions. Don't let the things they say frighten you. Don't be terrified in their presence, even though they are rebellious people.

7 Speak my words to them whether they listen or not, because they are rebellious.

8 But you, son of man, listen to what I say. Don't be rebellious like those rebellious people. Open your mouth, and eat what I am giving to you."

9 As I looked, I saw a hand stretched out toward me. In it was a scroll.

10 He spread the scroll in front of me. There was writing on the front and back. There were funeral songs, songs of mourning, and horrible things written on it.
