1 Y vino a mí la palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo:

2 Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia los hijos de Amón, y profetiza contra ellos,

3 y di a los hijos de Amón: "Oíd la palabra del Señor DIOS. Así dice el Señor DIOS: 'Por cuanto dijiste: "¡Ajá!" contra mi santuario cuando era profanado, y contra la tierra de Israel cuando era desolada, y contra la casa de Judá cuando iba en cautiverio,

4 por tanto, he aquí, te entregaré por posesión a los hijos del oriente, y asentarán en ti sus campamentos y pondrán en ti sus tiendas; ellos comerán tus frutos y ellos beberán tu leche.

5 'Yo haré de Rabá un pastizal para camellos, y de las ciudades de los hijos de Amón un descansadero para rebaños. Y sabréis que yo soy el SEÑOR.'

6 "Porque así dice el Señor DIOS: 'Por haber batido palmas y golpeado con tus pies, por haberte alegrado con todo el escarnio de tu alma contra la tierra de Israel,

7 por tanto, he aquí, yo he extendido mi mano contra ti y te daré por despojo a las naciones; te cortaré de entre los pueblos y te exterminaré de entre las tierras. Te destruiré; y sabrás que yo soy el SEÑOR.'

8 "Así dice el Señor DIOS: 'Por cuanto Moab y Seir dicen: "He aquí, la casa de Judá es como todas las naciones",

9 por tanto, he aquí, voy a abrir el flanco de Moab y privarla de sus ciudades, de las ciudades que están en sus fronteras, la gloria de la tierra, Bet-jesimot, Baal-meón y Quiriataim,

10 y la daré en posesión a los hijos del oriente, junto con los hijos de Amón, para que los hijos de Amón no sean recordados más entre las naciones.

11 'Haré juicios contra Moab, y sabrán que yo soy el SEÑOR.'

12 "Así dice el Señor DIOS: 'Por cuanto Edom ha obrado vengativamente contra la casa de Judá, ha incurrido en grave culpa y se ha vengado de ellos,'

13 por tanto, así dice el Señor DIOS: 'Yo extenderé también mi mano contra Edom y cortaré de ella hombres y animales y la dejaré en ruinas; desde Temán hasta Dedán caerán a espada.

14 'Pondré mi venganza contra Edom en mano de mi pueblo Israel, y harán en Edom conforme a mi ira y conforme a mi furor; así conocerán mi venganza'declara el Señor DIOS.

15 "Así dice el Señor DIOS: 'Por cuanto los filisteos han obrado vengativamente y con desprecio de alma han tomado venganza, destruyendo por causa de perpetua enemistad,'

16 por tanto, así dice el Señor DIOS: 'He aquí, yo extenderé mi mano contra los filisteos, y cortaré a los cereteos y haré perecer a los que quedan en la costa del mar.

17 'Y ejecutaré contra ellos grandes venganzas con terribles represiones; y sabrán que yo soy el SEÑOR cuando haga venir mi venganza sobre ellos.'"

1 God's Message came to me:

2 "Son of man, face Ammon and preach against the people:

3 Listen to the Message of God, the Master. This is what God has to say: Because you cheered when my Sanctuary was desecrated and the land of Judah was devastated and the people of Israel were taken into exile,

4 I'm giving you over to the people of the east. They'll move in and make themselves at home, eating the food right off your tables and drinking your milk.

5 I'll turn your capital, Rabbah, into pasture for camels and all your villages into corrals for flocks. Then you'll realize that I am God.

6 "God, the Master, says, Because you clapped and cheered, venting all your malicious contempt against the land of Israel,

7 I'll step in and hand you out as loot - first come, first served. I'll cross you off the roster of nations. There'll be nothing left of you. And you'll realize that I am God."

8 "God, the Master, says: Because Moab said, 'Look, Judah's nothing special,'

9 I'll lay wide open the flank of Moab by exposing its lovely frontier villages to attack: Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim.

10 I'll lump Moab in with Ammon and give them to the people of the east for the taking. Ammon won't be heard from again.

11 I'll punish Moab severely. And they'll realize that I am God."

12 "God, the Master, says: Because Edom reacted against the people of Judah in spiteful revenge and was so criminally vengeful against them,

13 therefore I, God, the Master, will oppose Edom and kill the lot of them, people and animals both. I'll waste it - corpses stretched from Teman to Dedan.

14 I'll use my people Israel to bring my vengeance down on Edom. My wrath will fuel their action. And they'll realize it's my vengeance. Decree of God the Master."

15 "God, the Master, says: Because the Philistines were so spitefully vengeful - all those centuries of stored-up malice! - and did their best to destroy Judah,

16 therefore I, God, the Master, will oppose the Philistines and cut down the Cretans and anybody else left along the seacoast.

17 Huge acts of vengeance, massive punishments! When I bring vengeance, they'll realize that I am God."
