1 Fin de la gloria de Tiro<br />Luego recibí este mensaje del Señor<br />:

The word of the LORD came to me:
2 «Hijo de hombre, entona un canto fúnebre por Tiro,

“Son of man, take up a lament concerning Tyre.
3 esa poderosa ciudad y portal al mar, el centro comercial del mundo. Dale a Tiro este mensaje de parte del Señor<br /> Soberano:<br />»“Oh Tiro, te jactaste diciendo:<br />‘¡Mi belleza es perfecta!’.

Say to Tyre, situated at the gateway to the sea, merchant of peoples on many coasts, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “ ‘You say, Tyre, “I am perfect in beauty.”
4 Extendiste tus fronteras hacia el mar.<br />Tus constructores hicieron perfecta tu belleza.

Your domain was on the high seas; your builders brought your beauty to perfection.
5 Eras como un gran barco<br />construido con los mejores cipreses de Senir.<br />Con un cedro del Líbano<br />te fabricaron un mástil.

They made all your timbers of juniper from Senir ; they took a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.
6 Te labraron los remos<br />con robles de Basán.<br />Tu cubierta hecha de pino de las costas de Chipre<br />se incrustó con marfil.

Of oaks from Bashan they made your oars; of cypress wood from the coasts of Cyprus they made your deck, adorned with ivory.
7 Confeccionaron tus velas con el mejor lino de Egipto,<br />y ondeaban sobre ti como una bandera.<br />Estabas bajo toldos azules y púrpura,<br />abrillantados con tinturas de las costas de Elisa.

Fine embroidered linen from Egypt was your sail and served as your banner; your awnings were of blue and purple from the coasts of Elishah.
8 Tus remeros venían de Sidón y de Arvad;<br />tus timoneles eran hombres hábiles de Tiro.

Men of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen; your skilled men, Tyre, were aboard as your sailors.
9 Sabios ancianos artesanos de Gebal calafateaban la nave.<br />De todos los países llegaban naves con mercancías para comerciar contigo.

Veteran craftsmen of Byblos were on board as shipwrights to caulk your seams. All the ships of the sea and their sailors came alongside to trade for your wares.
10 »”Hombres de las lejanas tierras de Persia, Lidia y Libia<br /> servían en tu gran ejército. Ellos colgaban sus escudos y yelmos en tus muros y así te daban gran honor.

“ ‘Men of Persia, Lydia and Put served as soldiers in your army. They hung their shields and helmets on your walls, bringing you splendor.
11 Hombres de Arvad y de Helec montaban guardia en tus murallas. Tus torres estaban al mando de hombres de Gamad. Sus escudos colgados en tus murallas completaban tu belleza.

Men of Arvad and Helek guarded your walls on every side; men of Gammad were in your towers. They hung their shields around your walls; they brought your beauty to perfection.
12 »”De Tarsis enviaban mercaderes para comprar tus productos a cambio de plata, hierro, estaño y plomo.

“ ‘Tarshish did business with you because of your great wealth of goods; they exchanged silver, iron, tin and lead for your merchandise.
13 Mercaderes de Grecia,<br /> Tubal y Mesec llegaban con esclavos y objetos de bronce para comerciar contigo.

“ ‘Greece, Tubal and Meshek did business with you; they traded human beings and articles of bronze for your wares.
14 »”De Bet-togarmá traían caballos para montar, caballos para carros de guerra y mulas para cambiarlos por tus mercancías.

“ ‘Men of Beth Togarmah exchanged chariot horses, cavalry horses and mules for your merchandise.
15 También te llegaban mercaderes desde la tierra de Dedán.<br /> Tenías el monopolio del mercado en muchos lugares costeros; te pagaban con colmillos de marfil y madera de ébano.

“ ‘The men of Rhodes traded with you, and many coastlands were your customers; they paid you with ivory tusks and ebony.

“ ‘Aram did business with you because of your many products; they exchanged turquoise, purple fabric, embroidered work, fine linen, coral and rubies for your merchandise.
17 Judá e Israel te ofrecían trigo de Minit, higos,<br /> miel, aceite de oliva y bálsamo a cambio de tus mercancías.

“ ‘Judah and Israel traded with you; they exchanged wheat from Minnith and confections, honey, olive oil and balm for your wares.
18 »”De Damasco enviaban mercaderes a comprar tu gran variedad de artículos, a cambio de vino de Helbón y lana blanca de Sajar.

“ ‘Damascus did business with you because of your many products and great wealth of goods. They offered wine from Helbon, wool from Zahar
19 Llegaban griegos desde Uzal<br /> con hierro forjado, canela y cálamo aromático para cambiar por tus mercancías.

and casks of wine from Izal in exchange for your wares: wrought iron, cassia and calamus.
20 »”Desde Dedán enviaban mercaderes para intercambiar contigo sus costosas mantas para montura.

“ ‘Dedan traded in saddle blankets with you.
21 Los árabes y los príncipes de Cedar enviaban mercaderes para obtener tus mercancías a cambio de corderos, carneros y chivos.

“ ‘Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your customers; they did business with you in lambs, rams and goats.
22 Llegaban mercaderes de Saba y Raama para conseguir tus mercancías a cambio de toda clase de especias, joyas y oro.

“ ‘The merchants of Sheba and Raamah traded with you; for your merchandise they exchanged the finest of all kinds of spices and precious stones, and gold.

“ ‘Harran, Kanneh and Eden and merchants of Sheba, Ashur and Kilmad traded with you.
24 Traían telas de alta calidad para comerciar: tela de color azul, bordados y alfombras multicolores, enrolladas y atadas con cordeles.

In your marketplace they traded with you beautiful garments, blue fabric, embroidered work and multicolored rugs with cords twisted and tightly knotted.
25 Las naves de Tarsis formaban una caravana acuática. ¡Los depósitos de tu isla estaban llenos hasta el techo!

“ ‘The ships of Tarshish serve as carriers for your wares. You are filled with heavy cargo as you sail the sea.
26 Destrucción de Tiro<br />»”¡Pero mira! ¡Tus remeros<br />te han llevado hacia mares tempestuosos!<br />¡Un poderoso viento oriental<br />te ha causado destrozos en alta mar!

Your oarsmen take you out to the high seas. But the east wind will break you to pieces far out at sea.
27 Has perdido todo:<br />tus riquezas y tus mercancías,<br />tus marineros y tus pilotos,<br />tus constructores de naves, tus mercaderes y tus guerreros.<br />En el día de tu ruina,<br />todos a bordo se hundirán en lo profundo del mar.

Your wealth, merchandise and wares, your mariners, sailors and shipwrights, your merchants and all your soldiers, and everyone else on board will sink into the heart of the sea on the day of your shipwreck.
28 Tiemblan tus ciudades junto al mar<br />mientras tus pilotos gritan de terror.

The shorelands will quake when your sailors cry out.
29 Todos los remeros abandonan sus naves;<br />los marineros y los pilotos en tierra firme se agrupan en la playa.

All who handle the oars will abandon their ships; the mariners and all the sailors will stand on the shore.
30 Gritan fuerte por ti<br />y lloran amargamente.<br />Se echan polvo sobre la cabeza<br />y se revuelcan en cenizas.

They will raise their voice and cry bitterly over you; they will sprinkle dust on their heads and roll in ashes.
31 Se rapan la cabeza en señal de duelo por ti<br />y se visten de tela áspera.<br />Lloran por ti con gran amargura<br />y profundo dolor.

They will shave their heads because of you and will put on sackcloth. They will weep over you with anguish of soul and with bitter mourning.
32 Mientras se lamentan y gimen por ti,<br />entonan este triste canto fúnebre:<br />‘¿Hubo alguna vez una ciudad como Tiro,<br />que ahora está en silencio, en el fondo del mar?

As they wail and mourn over you, they will take up a lament concerning you: “Who was ever silenced like Tyre, surrounded by the sea?”
33 Las mercancías que comerciabas<br />saciaron los deseos de muchas naciones.<br />Reyes de los confines de la tierra<br />se enriquecieron con tu comercio.

When your merchandise went out on the seas, you satisfied many nations; with your great wealth and your wares you enriched the kings of the earth.
34 Ahora eres una nave que naufragó,<br />deshecha en el fondo del mar.<br />Toda tu mercancía y tu tripulación<br />se hundieron contigo.

Now you are shattered by the sea in the depths of the waters; your wares and all your company have gone down with you.
35 Todos los habitantes de las costas<br />se horrorizan de tu terrible destino.<br />Los reyes están llenos de terror<br />y lo ven con la cara retorcida de espanto.

All who live in the coastlands are appalled at you; their kings shudder with horror and their faces are distorted with fear.

The merchants among the nations scoff at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.’ ”
