1 Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

The Lord spoke his word to me, saying:
2 Hijo del hombre, profetiza, y di: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Aullad: ¡Ay del día!

"Human, prophesy and say, 'This is what the Lord God says: Cry and say, "The terrible day is coming."
3 Porque cerca está el día, cerca está el día del Señor; día de nublado, día de las gentes será.

The day is near; the Lord's day of judging is near. It is a cloudy day and a time when the nations will be judged.
4 Y vendrá espada á Egipto, y habrá miedo en Etiopía, cuando caerán heridos en Egipto; y tomarán su multitud, y serán destruídos sus fundamentos.

An enemy will attack Egypt, and Cush will tremble with fear. When the killing begins in Egypt, her wealth will be taken away, and her foundations will be torn down.
5 Etiopía, y Libia, y Lidia, y todo el conjunto de pueblo, y Chûb, y los hijos de la tierra de la liga, caerán con ellos á cuchillo.

Cush, Put, Lydia, Arabia, Libya, and some of my people who had made an agreement with Egypt will fall dead in war.
6 Así ha dicho Jehová: También caerán los que sostienen á Egipto, y la altivez de su fortaleza caerá: desde Migdol hasta Seveneh caerán en él á cuchillo, dice el Señor Jehová.

"'This is what the Lord says: Those who fight on Egypt's side will fall. The power she is proud of will be lost. from Migdol in the north to Aswan in the south, says the Lord God.
7 Y serán asolados entre las tierras asoladas, y sus ciudades serán entre las ciudades desiertas.

They will be the most deserted lands. Egypt's cities will be the worst of cities that lie in ruins.
8 Y sabrán que yo soy Jehová, cuando pusiere fuego á Egipto, y fueren quebrantados todos sus ayudadores.

Then they will know that I am the Lord when I set fire to Egypt and when all those nations on her side are crushed.
9 En aquel tiempo saldrán mensajeros de delante de mí en navíos, á espantar á Etiopía la confiada, y tendrán espanto como en el día de Egipto: porque he aquí viene.

"'At that time I will send messengers in ships to frighten Cush, which now feels safe. The people of Cush will tremble with fear when Egypt is punished. And that time is sure to come.
10 Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Haré cesar la multitud de Egipto por mano de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia.

"'This is what the Lord God says: through the power of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11 El, y con él su pueblo, los más fuertes de las gentes, serán traídos á destruir la tierra: y desenvainarán sus espadas sobre Egipto, y henchirán la tierra de muertos.

Nebuchadnezzar and his army, the cruelest army of any nation, will be brought in to destroy the land. and will fill the land with those they kill.
12 Y secaré los ríos, y entregaré la tierra en manos de malos, y destruiré la tierra y su plenitud por mano de extranjeros: yo Jehová he hablado.

I will make the streams of the Nile River become dry land, and then I will sell the land to evil people. I will destroy the land and everything in it through the power of foreigners. I, the Lord, have spoken.
13 Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Destruiré también las imágenes, y haré cesar los ídolos de Memphis; y no habrá más príncipe de la tierra de Egipto, y en la tierra de Egipto pondré temor.

"'This is what the Lord God says: I will destroy the idols and take away the statues of gods from the city of Memphis. There will no longer be a leader in Egypt, and I will spread fear through the land of Egypt.
14 Y asolaré á Patros, y pondré fuego á Zoán, y haré juicios en No.

I will make southern Egypt empty and start a fire in Zoan and punish Thebes.
15 Y derramaré mi ira sobre Sin, fortaleza de Egipto, y talaré la multitud de No.

And I will pour out my anger against Pelusium, the strong place of Egypt. I will destroy great numbers of people in Thebes.
16 Y pondré fuego á Egipto; Sin tendrá gran dolor, y No será destrozada, y Memphis tendrá continuas angustias.

I will set fire to Egypt. Pelusium will be in great pain. The walls of Thebes will be broken open, and Memphis will have troubles every day.
17 Los mancebos de Avén y de Pibeseth caerán á cuchillo; y ellas irán en cautiverio.
17
The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis will fall dead in war, and the people will be taken away as captives.
18 Y en Tehaphnes será cerrado el día, cuando quebrantaré yo allí las barras de Egipto, y cesará en ella la soberbia de su fortaleza: nublado la cubrirá, y los moradores de sus aldeas irán en cautiverio.

In Tahpanhes the day will be dark when I break Egypt's power. Then she will no longer be proud of her power. A cloud will cover Egypt, and her villages will be captured and taken away.
19 Haré pues juicios en Egipto y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.
19
So I will punish Egypt, and they will know I am the Lord.'"
20 Y aconteció en el año undécimo, en el mes primero, á los siete del mes, que fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

It was in the eleventh year of our captivity, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month. The Lord spoke his word to me, saying:
21 Hijo del hombre, quebrantado he el brazo de Faraón rey de Egipto; y he aquí que no ha sido vendado poniéndo le medicinas, poniéndole faja para ligarlo, á fin de vigorizarle para que pueda tener espada.

"Human, I have broken the powerful arm of the king of Egypt. It has not been tied up, so it will not get well. It has not been wrapped with a bandage, so it will not be strong enough to hold a sword in war.
22 Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Heme aquí contra Faraón rey de Egipto, y quebraré sus brazos, el fuerte y el fracturado, y haré que la espada se le caiga de la mano.

So this is what the Lord God says: I am against the king of Egypt. I will break his arms, both the strong arm and the broken arm, and I will make the sword fall from his hand.
23 Y esparciré los Egipcios entre las gentes, y aventarélos por las tierras.

I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, spreading them among the countries.
24 Y fortificaré los brazos del rey de Babilonia, y pondré mi espada en su mano; mas quebraré los brazos de Faraón, y delante de aquél gemirá con gemidos de herido de muerte.

I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong and put my sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of the king of Egypt. Then when he faces the king of Babylon, he will cry out in pain like a dying person.
25 Fortificaré pues los brazos del rey de Babilonia, y los brazos de Faraón caerán; y sabrán que yo soy Jehová, cuando yo pusiere mi espada en la mano del rey de Babilonia, y él la extendiere sobre la tierra de Egipto.

So I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong, but the arms of the king of Egypt will fall. Then people will know that I am the Lord when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he uses it in war against Egypt.
26 Y esparciré los Egipcios entre las gentes, y los aventaré por las tierras; y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.

Then I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, spreading them among the countries. Then they will know that I am the Lord."
