1 Y vino a mí la palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo:

2 Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia el monte Seir, y profetiza contra él,

3 y dile: "Así dice el Señor DIOS: "He aquí, estoy contra ti, monte Seir, extenderé mi mano contra ti, y te convertiré en desolación y en soledad.

4 'Dejaré en ruinas tus ciudades, y serás convertida en desolación; y sabrás que yo soy el SEÑOR.

5 'Por cuanto tuviste enemistad perpetua y entregaste a los hijos de Israel al poder de la espada en el tiempo de su calamidad, en el tiempo del castigo final,

6 por tanto, vivo yodeclara el Señor DIOS, que a sangre te entregaré y la sangre te perseguirá; ya que no has odiado el derramamiento de sangre, la sangre te perseguirá.

7 'Haré del monte Seir desierto y desolación, y cortaré de él al que vaya y al que venga.

8 'Y llenaré sus montes de sus muertos; en tus collados y en tus valles y en todas tus barrancas caerán los muertos a espada.

9 'Te haré desolación perpetua, y tus ciudades no serán habitadas; y sabréis que yo soy el SEÑOR.

10 'Por cuanto has dicho: "Las dos naciones y las dos tierras serán mías, y las poseeremos", aunque el SEÑOR estaba allí.

11 'Por tanto, vivo yo'declara el Señor DIOS, "haré contigo conforme a tu ira y conforme al celo que mostraste a causa de tu odio contra ellos, y me haré conocer entre ellos cuando te juzgue.

12 'Entonces sabrás que yo, el SEÑOR, he oído todas las injurias que has hablado contra los montes de Israel, diciendo: "Están desolados; nos han sido dados para alimento."

13 'Con arrogancia habéis hablado contra mí y habéis multiplicado vuestras palabras contra mí; yo lo he oído.'

14 "Así dice el Señor DIOS: 'Para alegría de toda la tierra, yo haré de ti una desolación.

15 'Como te alegraste sobre la heredad de la casa de Israel porque fue asolada, así te haré yo a ti. Serás una desolación, monte Seir, y todo Edom, todo él; y sabrán que yo soy el SEÑOR.'"

1 God's Message came to me:

2 "Son of man, confront Mount Seir. Prophesy against it!

3 Tell them, 'God, the Master, says: "'I'm coming down hard on you, Mount Seir. I'm stepping in and turning you to a pile of rubble.

4 I'll reduce your towns to piles of rocks. There'll be nothing left of you. Then you'll realize that I am God.

5 "'I'm doing this because you've kept this age-old grudge going against Israel: You viciously attacked them when they were already down, looking their final punishment in the face.

6 Therefore, as sure as I am the living God, I'm lining you up for a real bloodbath. Since you loved blood so much, you'll be chased by rivers of blood.

7 I'll reduce Mount Seir to a heap of rubble. No one will either come or go from that place!

8 I'll blanket your mountains with corpses. Massacred bodies will cover your hills and fill up your valleys and ditches.

9 I'll reduce you to ruins and all your towns will be ghost towns - population zero. Then you'll realize that I am God.

10 "'Because you said, "These two nations, these two countries, are mine. I'm taking over" (even though God is right there watching, right there listening),

11 I'll turn your hate-bloated anger and rage right back on you. You'll know I mean business when I bring judgment on you.

12 You'll realize then that I, God, have overheard all the vile abuse you've poured out against the mountains of Israel, saying, "They're roadkill and we're going to eat them up."

13 You've strutted around, talking so big, insolently pitting yourselves against me. And I've heard it all.

14 "'This is the verdict of God, the Master: With the whole earth applauding, I'll demolish you.

15 Since you danced in the streets, thinking it was so wonderful when Israel's inheritance was demolished, I'll give you the same treatment: demolition. Mount Seir demolished - yes, every square inch of Edom. Then they'll realize that I am God!'
