1 Y vino a mí la palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo:

2 Y tú, hijo de hombre, di: "Así dice el Señor DIOS a la tierra de Israel: '¡El fin, el fin viene sobre los cuatro extremos de la tierra!

3 'Ahora viene el fin sobre ti y enviaré mi ira contra ti; te juzgaré conforme a tus caminos y traeré sobre ti todas tus abominaciones.

4 'Mi ojo no tendrá piedad de ti ni yo te perdonaré; sino que te pagaré conforme a tus caminos, y tus abominaciones en medio de ti quedarán; y sabréis que yo soy el SEÑOR.'"

5 Así dice el Señor DIOS: "¡Un desastre!, ¡he aquí que viene un desastre sin igual!

6 "El fin viene, viene el fin; se ha despertado contra ti; he aquí, ha venido.

7 "Te ha llegado tu turno, oh habitante de la tierra. Ha llegado el tiempo, se acerca el día; pánico, y no júbilo, en los montes.

8 "Ahora pronto derramaré mi furor sobre ti y descargaré mi ira contra ti; te juzgaré conforme a tus caminos y traeré sobre ti todas tus abominaciones.

9 "Mi ojo no tendrá piedad ni yo perdonaré. Te pagaré conforme a tus caminos, y tus abominaciones quedarán en medio de ti; y sabréis que soy yo, el SEÑOR, el que hiere.

10 "He aquí el día; he aquí que viene. Ha salido tu turno, ha florecido la vara, ha reverdecido la arrogancia.

11 "Se ha levantado la violencia para hacerse vara de impiedad. Nada quedará de ellos, ni de su multitud, ni de su riqueza, ni gloria entre ellos.

12 "El tiempo ha venido, ha llegado el día. No se alegre el que compra ni se lamente el que vende, porque el furor está sobre toda su multitud.

13 "Ciertamente el vendedor no recuperará lo vendido mientras ambos vivan, porque la visión acerca de toda su multitud no será revocada; y nadie, por su iniquidad, podrá conservar su vida.

14 "Han tocado la trompeta y lo han preparado todo, pero nadie va a la batalla; porque mi furor está contra toda su multitud.

15 "La espada está afuera, y la plaga y el hambre están dentro. El que esté en el campo morirá a espada, y al que esté en la ciudad, la plaga y el hambre lo consumirán.

16 "Aun cuando escapen los sobrevivientes, estarán sobre los montes como palomas de los valles, todos ellos gimiendo por su iniquidad.

17 "Todas las manos se debilitarán, y todas las rodillas serán como de agua.

18 "Se ceñirán de cilicio y los cubrirá el terror; habrá en todos los rostros verguenza y todas las cabezas estarán rapadas.

19 "Arrojarán su plata en las calles y su oro se convertirá en cosa abominable; ni su plata ni su oro podrán librarlos el día de la ira del SEÑOR. No saciarán su apetito ni llenarán sus estómagos, porque su iniquidad ha llegado a ser ocasión de tropiezo.

20 "Cambiaron la belleza de sus ornamentos en orgullo, y de ellos hicieron las imágenes de sus abominaciones y de sus cosas detestables; por tanto haré que esto sea cosa abominable para ellos.

21 "La entregaré en manos de extraños por botín y a los impíos de la tierra por despojo, y la profanarán.

22 "Apartaré de ellos mi rostro y profanarán mi lugar secreto; entrarán en él ladrones y lo profanarán.

23 "Haz la cadena, porque la tierra está llena de crímenes sangrientos y la ciudad llena de violencia.

24 "Por tanto, traeré a las más perversas de las naciones, que se apoderarán de sus casas; y haré cesar el orgullo de los poderosos y sus santuarios serán profanados.

25 "Cuando llegue la angustia, buscarán la paz, pero no la habrá.

26 "Vendrá calamidad sobre calamidad, y habrá rumor tras rumor; entonces buscarán visión del profeta, y la ley desaparecerá del sacerdote y el consejo de los ancianos.

27 "El rey hará duelo, el príncipe se vestirá de horror y temblarán las manos del pueblo de la tierra. Según su conducta los trataré y por sus juicios los juzgaré; y sabrán que yo soy el SEÑOR."

1 God's Word came to me, saying,

2 "You, son of man - God, the Master, has this Message for the land of Israel: "'Endtime. The end of business as usual for everyone.

3 It's all over. The end is upon you. I've launched my anger against you. I've issued my verdict on the way you live. I'll make you pay for your disgusting obscenities.

4 I won't look the other way, I won't feel sorry for you. I'll make you pay for the way you've lived: Your disgusting obscenities will boomerang on you, and you'll realize that I am God.'

5 "I, God, the Master, say: 'Disaster after disaster! Look, it comes!

6 Endtime - the end comes. The end is ripe. Watch out, it's coming!

7 This is your fate, you who live in this land. Time's up. It's zero hour. No dragging of feet now, no bargaining for more time.

8 Soon now I'll pour my wrath on you, pay out my anger against you, Render my verdict on the way you've lived, make you pay for your disgusting obscenities.

10 "'Judgment Day! Fate has caught up with you. The scepter outsized and pretentious, pride bursting all bounds,

11 Violence strutting, brandishing the evil scepter. But there's nothing to them, and nothing will be left of them.

16 Survivors run for the hills. They moan like doves in the valleys, Each one moaning for his own sins.

17 "'Every hand hangs limp, every knee turns to rubber.

18 They dress in rough burlap - sorry scarecrows, Shifty and shamefaced, with their heads shaved bald.

19 "'They throw their money into the gutters. Their hard-earned cash stinks like garbage. They find that it won't buy a thing they either want or need on Judgment Day. They tripped on money and fell into sin.

21 I'll give away their religious junk - strangers will pick it up for free, the godless spit on it and make jokes.

22 I'll turn my face so I won't have to look as my treasured place and people are violated, As violent strangers walk in and desecrate place and people -

23 A bloody massacre, as crime and violence fill the city.

24 I'll bring in the dregs of humanity to move into their houses. I'll put a stop to the boasting and strutting of the high-and-mighty, And see to it that there'll be nothing holy left in their holy places.

25 Catastrophe descends. They look for peace, but there's no peace to be found -

26 Disaster on the heels of disaster, one rumor after another. They clamor for the prophet to tell them what's up, but nobody knows anything. Priests don't have a clue; the elders don't know what to say.

27 The king holds his head in despair; the prince is devastated. The common people are paralyzed. Gripped by fear, they can't move. I'll deal with them where they are, judge them on their terms. They'll know that I am God.'"
