1 Carga de Moab, cierto, de noche fue destruida Ar-Moab, fue puesta en silencio. Cierto, de noche fue destruida Kir-Moab, fue puesta en silencio.

A prophecy against Moab: Ar in Moab is ruined, destroyed in a night! Kir in Moab is ruined, destroyed in a night!
2 Subió a Bayit y a Dibón, altares, a llorar; sobre Nebo y sobre Medeba aullará Moab; toda cabeza de ella se mesará, y toda barba será raída.

Dibon goes up to its temple, to its high places to weep; Moab wails over Nebo and Medeba. Every head is shaved and every beard cut off.
3 Se ceñirán de cilicio en sus plazas; en sus terrados y en sus calles todos aullarán, descendiendo en llanto.

In the streets they wear sackcloth; on the roofs and in the public squares they all wail, prostrate with weeping.
4 Hesbón y Eleale gritarán, hasta Jahaza se oirá su voz; por lo que aullarán los armados de Moab, se lamentará el alma de cada uno de por sí.

Heshbon and Elealeh cry out, their voices are heard all the way to Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry out, and their hearts are faint.
5 Mi corazón dará gritos por Moab; sus fugitivos subirán con lloro por la subida de Luhit hasta Zoar, novilla de tres años, levantarán grito de quebrantamiento por el camino de Horonaim.

My heart cries out over Moab; her fugitives flee as far as Zoar, as far as Eglath Shelishiyah. They go up the hill to Luhith, weeping as they go; on the road to Horonaim they lament their destruction.
6 Las aguas de Nimrim se agotaron; la grama <I>del atrio</I> se secó, faltó la hierba, verdura no hubo.

The waters of Nimrim are dried up and the grass is withered; the vegetation is gone and nothing green is left.
7 Por lo cual lo que <I>cada uno</I> guardó, y sus riquezas sobre el arroyo de los sauces serán llevadas.

So the wealth they have acquired and stored up they carry away over the Ravine of the Poplars.
8 El llanto cercó los términos de Moab; hasta Eglaim <I>llegó</I> su alarido, y hasta Beer-elim <I>llegó</I> su clamor.

Their outcry echoes along the border of Moab; their wailing reaches as far as Eglaim, their lamentation as far as Beer Elim.
9 Porque las aguas de Dimón se llenarán de sangre; porque <I>yo</I> pondré sobre Dimón añadiduras, leones a los que escaparen de Moab, y al remanente de la tierra.

The waters of Dimon are full of blood, but I will bring still more upon Dimon — a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon those who remain in the land.
