1 Me dejé buscar por los que no preguntaban por mí; me dejé hallar por los que no me buscaban. Dije: "Heme aquí, heme aquí", a una nación que no invocaba mi nombre.

2 Extendí mis manos todo el día hacia un pueblo rebelde, que anda por el camino que no es bueno, en pos de sus pensamientos;

3 un pueblo que de continuo me provoca en mi propio rostro, sacrificando en huertos y quemando incienso sobre ladrillos;

4 que se sientan entre sepulcros y pasan la noche en lugares secretos; que comen carne de cerdo, y en sus ollas hay caldo de carnes inmundas;

5 que dicen: "Quédate donde estás, no te acerques a mí, porque soy más santo que tú." Estos son humo en mi nariz, fuego que arde todo el día.

6 He aquí, escrito está delante de mí: no guardaré silencio, sino que les daré su pago, y les recompensaré en su seno,

7 por vuestras iniquidades y por las iniquidades de vuestros padres juntamentedice el SEÑOR. Porque quemaron incienso en los montes, y en las colinas me injuriaron; por tanto mediré en su seno su obra pasada.

8 Así dice el SEÑOR: Como cuando se encuentra mosto en el racimo y alguien dice: "No lo destruyas, porque en él hay bendición", así haré yo por mis siervos para no destuirlos a todos.

9 Sacaré de Jacob descendencia y de Judá heredero de mis montes; mis escogidos la heredarán, y mis siervos morarán allí.

10 Sarón será pastizal para ovejas, y el valle de Acor para lugar de descanso de vacas, para mi pueblo que me busca.

11 Pero vosotros que abandonáis al SEÑOR, que olvidáis mi santo monte, que ponéis mesa para la Fortuna, y que preparáis vino mezclado para el Destino,

12 yo os destinaré a la espada, y todos vosotros os encorvaréis para la matanza. Porque llamé, mas no respondisteis, hablé, mas no oísteis; hicisteis lo malo ante mis ojos y escogisteis aquello que no me complacía.

13 Por tanto, así dice el Señor DIOS: He aquí, mis siervos comerán, mas vosotros tendréis hambre; he aquí, mis siervos beberán, mas vosotros tendréis sed; he aquí, mis siervos se alegrarán, mas vosotros seréis avergonzados;

14 he aquí, mis siervos darán gritos de júbilo con corazón alegre, mas vosotros clamaréis con corazón triste, y con espíritu quebrantado gemiréis.

15 Y dejaréis vuestro nombre como maldición a mis escogidos; el Señor DIOS te matará, pero mis siervos serán llamados por otro nombre.

16 Porque el que es bendecido en la tierra, será bendecido por el Dios de la verdad; y el que jura en la tierra, jurará por el Dios de la verdad; porque han sido olvidadas las angustias primeras, y porque están ocultas a mis ojos.

17 Pues he aquí, yo creo cielos nuevos y una tierra nueva, y no serán recordadas las cosas primeras ni vendrán a la memoria.

18 Pero gozaos y regocijaos para siempre en lo que yo voy a crear; porque he aquí, voy a crear a Jerusalén para regocijo, y a su pueblo para júbilo.

19 Me regocijaré por Jerusalén y me gozaré por mi pueblo; no se oirá más en ella voz de lloro ni voz de clamor.

20 No habrá más allí niño que viva pocos días, ni anciano que no complete sus días; porque el joven morirá a los cien años, y el que no alcance los cien años será considerado maldito.

21 Construirán casas y las habitarán, plantarán también viñas y comerán su fruto.

22 No edificarán para que otro habite, ni plantarán para que otro coma; porque como los días de un árbol, así serán los días de mi pueblo, y mis escogidos disfrutarán de la obra de sus manos.

23 No trabajarán en vano, ni darán a luz para desgracia, porque son la simiente de los benditos del SEÑOR, ellos, y sus vástagos con ellos.

24 Y sucederá que antes que ellos clamen, yo responderé; aún estarán hablando, y yo habré oído.

25 El lobo y el cordero pacerán juntos, y el león, como el buey, comerá paja, y para la serpiente el polvo será su alimento. No harán mal ni dañarán en todo mi santo montedice el SEÑOR.

The Message Bible MSG

1 "I've made myself available to those who haven't bothered to ask. I'm here, ready to be found by those who haven't bothered to look. I kept saying 'I'm here, I'm right here' to a nation that ignored me.

2 I reached out day after day to a people who turned their backs on me, People who make wrong turns, who insist on doing things their own way.

3 They get on my nerves, are rude to my face day after day, Make up their own kitchen religion, a potluck religious stew.

4 They spend the night in tombs to get messages from the dead, Eat forbidden foods and drink a witch's brew of potions and charms.

5 They say, 'Keep your distance. Don't touch me. I'm holier than thou.' These people gag me. I can't stand their stench.

6 Look at this! Their sins are all written out - I have the list before me. I'm not putting up with this any longer. I'll pay them the wages

7 They have coming for their sins. And for the sins of their parents lumped in, a bonus." God says so. "Because they've practiced their blasphemous worship, mocking me at their hillside shrines, I'll let loose the consequences and pay them in full for their actions."

8 God's Message: "But just as one bad apple doesn't ruin the whole bushel, there are still plenty of good apples left. So I'll preserve those in Israel who obey me. I won't destroy the whole nation.

9 I'll bring out my true children from Jacob and the heirs of my mountains from Judah. My chosen will inherit the land, my servants will move in.

10 The lush valley of Sharon in the west will be a pasture for flocks, And in the east, the valley of Achor, a place for herds to graze. These will be for the people who bothered to reach out to me, who wanted me in their lives, who actually bothered to look for me.

11 "But you who abandon me, your God, who forget the holy mountains, Who hold dinners for Lady Luck and throw cocktail parties for Sir Fate,

12 Well, you asked for it. Fate it will be: your destiny, Death. For when I invited you, you ignored me; when I spoke to you, you brushed me off. You did the very things I exposed as evil; you chose what I hate."

13 Therefore, this is the Message from the Master, God: "My servants will eat, and you'll go hungry; My servants will drink, and you'll go thirsty; My servants will rejoice, and you'll hang your heads.

14 My servants will laugh from full hearts, and you'll cry out heartbroken, yes, wail from crushed spirits.

15 Your legacy to my chosen will be your name reduced to a cussword. I, God, will put you to death and give a new name to my servants.

16 Then whoever prays a blessing in the land will use my faithful name for the blessing, And whoever takes an oath in the land will use my faithful name for the oath, Because the earlier troubles are gone and forgotten, banished far from my sight. New Heavens and a New Earth

17 "Pay close attention now: I'm creating new heavens and a new earth. All the earlier troubles, chaos, and pain are things of the past, to be forgotten.

18 Look ahead with joy. Anticipate what I'm creating: I'll create Jerusalem as sheer joy, create my people as pure delight.

19 I'll take joy in Jerusalem, take delight in my people: No more sounds of weeping in the city, no cries of anguish;

20 No more babies dying in the cradle, or old people who don't enjoy a full lifetime; One-hundredth birthdays will be considered normal - anything less will seem like a cheat.

21 They'll build houses and move in. They'll plant fields and eat what they grow.

22 No more building a house that some outsider takes over, No more planting fields that some enemy confiscates, For my people will be as long-lived as trees, my chosen ones will have satisfaction in their work.

23 They won't work and have nothing come of it, they won't have children snatched out from under them. For they themselves are plantings blessed by God, with their children and grandchildren likewise God-blessed.

24 Before they call out, I'll answer. Before they've finished speaking, I'll have heard.

25 Wolf and lamb will graze the same meadow, lion and ox eat straw from the same trough, but snakes - they'll get a diet of dirt! Neither animal nor human will hurt or kill anywhere on my Holy Mountain," says God.
