See, the LORD is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants—
2 Nàshí bǎixìng zĕnyàng , jìsī yĕ zĕnyàng . púrén zĕnyàng , zhǔrén yĕ zĕnyàng . bìnǚ zĕnyàng , zhǔ mǔ yĕ zĕnyàng . mǎi wù de zĕnyàng , maì wù de yĕ zĕnyàng . fàng zhaì de zĕnyàng , jiè zhaì de yĕ zĕnyàng . qǔ lì de zĕnyàng , chū lì de yĕ zĕnyàng .

it will be the same for priest as for people, for the master as for his servant, for the mistress as for her servant, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor.
3 Dì bì quán rán kōngxū , jǐn dōu huāngliáng . yīnwei zhè huà shì Yēhéhuá shuō de .

The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The LORD has spoken this word.
4 Dì shang bēiāi shuāi cán , shìjiè baì luō shuāi cán , dì shang jū gāo wèi de rén yĕ baì luō le .

The earth dries up and withers, the world languishes and withers, the heavens languish with the earth.
5 Dì beì qí shang de jūmín wūhuì . yīnwei tāmen fàn le lǜfǎ , feì le lǜ lì , bēi le yǒng yuē .

The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Suǒyǐ dì beì zhòuzǔ tūn miè , zhù zaì qí shang de xiǎn wèi yǒu zuì . dì shang de jūmín beì huǒ fùnshāo , shèngxia de rén xīshǎo .

Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt. Therefore earth’s inhabitants are burned up, and very few are left.
7 Xīn jiǔ bēiāi , pútàoshù shuāi cán , xīn zhōng huānlè de , jū dōu tànxī .

The new wine dries up and the vine withers; all the merrymakers groan.
8 Jī gǔ zhī lè zhǐxī , yàn lè rén de shēngyīn wánbì , tán qín zhī lè yĕ zhǐxī le .

The joyful timbrels are stilled, the noise of the revelers has stopped, the joyful harp is silent.
9 Rén bì bùdé yǐn jiǔ chàng gē . hē nóng jiǔ de , bì yǐwéi kǔ .

No longer do they drink wine with a song; the beer is bitter to its drinkers.
10 Huāngliáng de chéng chāihuǐ le . ge jiā guān mén bì hù , shǐ rén dōu bùdé jìn qù .

The ruined city lies desolate; the entrance to every house is barred.
11 Zaì jiē shang yīn jiǔ yǒu bēi huān de shēngyīn . yīqiè xǐlè biàn wèi hūn àn . dì shang de huānlè guīyú wú yǒu .

In the streets they cry out for wine; all joy turns to gloom, all joyful sounds are banished from the earth.
12 Chéng zhōng zhǐyǒu huāngliáng , chéng mén chāihuǐ jìng jǐn .

The city is left in ruins, its gate is battered to pieces.
13 Zaì dì shang de wàn mín zhōng , bì xiàng dǎ guo de gǎnlǎn shù , yòu xiàng yǐ zhāi de pútào suǒ shèng wú jī .

So will it be on the earth and among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, or as when gleanings are left after the grape harvest.
14 Zhèxie rén yào gāo shēng huānhū . tāmen wèi Yēhéhuá de wēiyán , cóng hǎi nàli yáng qǐ shēng lái .

They raise their voices, they shout for joy; from the west they acclaim the LORD’s majesty.
15 Yīncǐ nǐmen yào zaì dōngfāng róngyào Yēhéhuá , zaì zhòng hǎidǎo róngyào Yēhéhuá Yǐsèliè shén de míng .

Therefore in the east give glory to the LORD; exalt the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea.
16 Wǒmen tīngjian cóng dìjí yǒu rén gē chàng , shuō , róngyào guīyú yì rén . wǒ què shuō , wǒ xiāomiè le , wǒ xiāomiè le , wǒ yǒu huò le . guǐzhà de xíng guǐzhà , guǐzhà de dà xíng guǐzhà .

From the ends of the earth we hear singing: “Glory to the Righteous One.” But I said, “I waste away, I waste away! Woe to me! The treacherous betray! With treachery the treacherous betray!”
17 Dì shang de jūmín nǎ , kǒngjù , xiàn kēng , wǎngluó , dōu línjìn nǐ .

Terror and pit and snare await you, people of the earth.
18 Duǒbì kǒngjù shēngyīn de bì zhuì rù xiàn kēng . cóng xiàn kēng shang lái de bì beì wǎngluó chán zhù . yīnwei tiān shang de chuānghu dōu kāi le , dì de gēnjī yĕ zhèndòng le .

Whoever flees at the sound of terror will fall into a pit; whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare. The floodgates of the heavens are opened, the foundations of the earth shake.
19 Dì quán rán pò huaì , jǐn dōu bēngliè , dàdà de zhèndòng le .

The earth is broken up, the earth is split asunder, the earth is violently shaken.
20 Dì yào dōng dǎo xī wāi , hǎoxiàng zuìjiǔ de rén . yòu yáo lái yáo qù , hǎoxiàng diào chuáng . zuì guo zaì qí shang chén zhòng , bìrán tā xiàn , bùnéng fù qǐ .

The earth reels like a drunkard, it sways like a hut in the wind; so heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion that it falls—never to rise again.
21 Dào nà rì Yēhéhuá zaì gāo chù bì chéngfá gāo chù de zhòng jūn , zaì dì shang bì chéngfá dì shang de liè wáng ,

In that day the LORD will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below.
22 Tāmen bì beì jùjí , xiàng qiúfàn beì jù zaì laó yù zhōng , bìng yào qiú zaì jiān laó lǐ , duō rì zhī hòu biàn beì tǎo zuì . ( huò zuò juàngù )

They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days.
23 Nàshí yuèliang yào méng xiū , rìtou yào cánkuì . yīnwei wàn jūn zhī Yēhéhuá bì zaì Xīānshān , zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng zuò wáng . zaì jìngwèi tāde zhǎnglǎo miànqián , bì yǒu róngyào .

The moon will be dismayed, the sun ashamed; for the LORD Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders—with great glory.
