1 EL pecado de Judá escrito está con cincel de hierro, y con punta de diamante: esculpido está en la tabla de su corazón, y en los lados de vuestros altares;

2 Cuando sus hijos se acuerdan de sus altares y de sus bosques, junto á los árboles verdes y en los collados altos.

3 ¡Oh mi montaña! tu hacienda en el campo y todos tus tesoros daré á saco, por el pecado de tus altos en todos tus términos.

4 Y habrá en ti cesación de tu heredad, la cual yo te dí, y te haré servir á tus enemigos en tierra que no conociste; porque fuego habéis encendido en mi furor, para siempre arderá.

5 Así ha dicho Jehová: Maldito el varón que confía en el hombre, y pone carne por su brazo, y su corazón se aparta de Jehová.

6 Pues será como la retama en el desierto, y no verá cuando viniere el bien; sino que morará en las securas en el desierto, en tierra despoblada y deshabitada.

7 Bendito el varón que se fía en Jehová, y cuya confianza es Jehová.

8 Porque él será como el árbol plantado junto á las aguas, que junto á la corriente echará sus raices, y no verá cuando viniere el calor, sino que su hoja estará verde; y en el año de sequía no se fatigará, ni dejará de hacer fruto.

9 Engañoso es el corazón más que todas las cosas, y perverso; ¿quién lo conocerá?

10 Yo Jehová, que escudriño el corazón, que pruebo los riñones, para dar á cada uno según su camino, según el fruto de sus obras.

11 Como la perdiz que cubre lo que no puso, es el que allega riquezas, y no con justicia; en medio de sus días las dejará, y en su postrimería será insipiente.

12 Trono de gloria, excelso desde el principio, es el lugar de nuestro santuario.

13 ¡Oh Jehová, esperanza de Israel! todos los que te dejan, serán avergonzados; y los que de mí se apartan, serán escritos en el polvo; porque dejaron la vena de aguas vivas, á Jehová.

14 Sáname, oh Jehová, y seré sano; sálvame, y seré salvo: porque tú eres mi alabanza.

15 He aquí que ellos me dicen: ¿Dónde está la palabra de Jehová? venga ahora.

16 Mas yo no me entrometí á ser pastor en pos de ti, ni deseé día de calamidad, tú lo sabes. Lo que de mi boca ha salido, fué en tu presencia.

17 No me seas tú por espanto: esperanza mía eres tú en el día malo.

18 Avergüéncense los que me persiguen, y no me avergüence yo; asómbrense ellos, y yo no me asombre: trae sobre ellos día malo, y quebrántalos con doble quebrantamiento.

19 Así me ha dicho Jehová: Ve, y ponte á la puerta de los hijos del pueblo, por la cual entran y salen los reyes de Judá, y á todas las puertas de Jerusalem,

20 Y diles: Oid la palabra de Jehová, reyes de Judá, y todo Judá, y todos los moradores de Jerusalem que entráis por esta puertas.

21 Así ha dicho Jehová: Guardaos por vuestras vidas, y no traigáis carga en el día del sábado, para meter por las puertas de Jerusalem;

22 Ni saquéis carga de vuestras casas en el día del sábado, ni hagáis obra alguna: mas santificad el día del sábado, como mandé á vuestros padres;

23 Mas ellos no oyeron, ni inclinaron su oído, antes endurecieron su cerviz, por no oir, ni recibir corrección.

24 Será empero, si vosotros me obedeciereis, dice Jehová, no metiendo carga por las puertas de esta ciudad en el día del sábado, sino que santificaréis el día del sábado, no haciendo en él ninguna obra;

25 Que entrarán por las puertas de esta ciudad, en carros y en caballos, los reyes y los príncipes que se sientan sobre el trono de David, ellos y sus príncipes, los varones de Judá, y los moradores de Jerusalem: y esta ciudad será habitada para siempre.

26 Y vendrán de las ciudades de Judá, y de los alrededores de Jerusalem, y de tierra de Benjamín, y de los campos, y del monte, y del austro, trayendo holocausto y sacrificio, y ofrenda é incienso, y trayendo sacrificio de alabanza á la casa de Jehová.

27 Mas si no me oyereis para santificar el día del sábado, y para no traer carga ni meterla por las puertas de Jerusalem en día de sábado, yo haré encender fuego en sus puertas, y consumirá los palacios de Jerusalem, y no se apagará.

1 "The sin of Judah [is] written with an iron stylus, with a point of diamond [it is] engraved on the tablet of their heart, and on the horns of their altars.

2 As the remembering of their children, [so is the remembering of] their altars and their poles of Asherah worship beside [the] leafy trees on [the] high hills.

3 [O] my mountain in the open country, I will give your wealth, all your treasures, for spoil, your high places, because of [your] sin, throughout all your territories.

4 And {you will let go your hand from your inheritance} that I gave to you, and I will make you serve your enemies in the land that you do not know, for you kindled a fire in my anger, until eternity it will be kindled."

5 Thus says Yahweh, "Cursed [is] the person who trusts in humankind and makes flesh his {strength},<note: Literally "arm"> and turns aside his heart from Yahweh.

6 And he will be like a juniper in the wilderness, and he will not see when good comes, and he will dwell [in the] parched places in the desert, [in] a land of salt flats, where no one lives.

7 Blessed be the person who trusts in Yahweh, and Yahweh is his trust.

8 For he will be like a tree planted by water, and to [the] stream it sends its roots, and it will not fear when heat comes, and its leaves will be luxuriant, and in [the] year of drought it will not be anxious, and it will not cease from the bearing of fruit.

9 The heart [is] deceitful more than anything else, and it [is] disastrous. Who can understand it?

10 I, Yahweh, examine [the] {mind}, [I] test [the] {heart}, and give to each one according to his way, according to the fruit of his deeds.

11 [Like] a partridge that hatches eggs it did not lay [is] one who amasses wealth without justice. In the middle of his days it will leave him, and at his end he will [prove to] be a fool."

12 A lofty throne of glory from the beginning [is] the place of our sanctuary.

13 [O] Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all [those who] forsake you will be put to shame, and [those who] turn aside from you in the earth will be recorded, for they have forsaken the fountain of living water, Yahweh.

14 Heal me, [O] Yahweh, and I will be healed, save me, and I will be saved, for you [are] my praise.

15 Look, they [are] saying to me, "Where [is] the word of Yahweh? Please let it come."

16 But I, I have not run away from being a shepherd {who follows you}, and I have not desired the disastrous day. You, you know the pronouncement of my lips, it was before your face.

17 You must not become to me a terror, you [are] my refuge in [the] day of disaster.

18 Let my persecutors be put to shame, {but as for me}, [do] not let me be put to shame. Let them be dismayed, {but as for me}, [do] not let me be dismayed. Bring on them the day of disaster, and [with] double destruction, destroy them.

19 Thus said Yahweh to me, "Go, and you must stand in the {People's Gate} through which the kings of Judah enter, and through which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem.

20 And you must say to them, 'Hear the word of Yahweh, kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem who enter through these gates.

21 Thus says Yahweh, "Be on your guard for the sake of yourselves, that you must not carry a burden on the day of the Sabbath, and you must [not] bring [it] through the gates of Jerusalem.

22 And you must not carry a burden from your houses on the day of the Sabbath, and you must not do any work. But you must declare holy the day of Sabbath, just as I commanded your ancestors.

23 Yet they did not listen, and they did not incline their ear, and they hardened their neck [so as] to not hear, nor to receive discipline.

24 "And it will happen, if you carefully listen to me," {declares} Yahweh, "to bring no burden through the gates of this city on the day of the Sabbath, but to declare holy the day of Sabbath, not to do on it any work,

25 then kings and officials who sit on the throne of David will enter through the gates of this city riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their officials, the people of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited {forever}.

26 And they will come from the towns of Judah, and from all around Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the Shephelah, and from the hill country, and from the Negev, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and grain offerings, and frankincense, and bringing thank offerings [to] the house of Yahweh.

27 But if you do not listen to me, to declare holy the day of the Sabbath, and to not carry a burden and enter through the gates of Jerusalem on the day of the Sabbath, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it will not be quenched." '"
