Good News Translation w/ Apocrypha GNTA
New International Version NIV
1 God is powerful; all must stand in awe of him;
1
Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:
2 he keeps his heavenly kingdom in peace.
2
“Dominion and awe belong to God; he establishes order in the heights of heaven.
3 Can anyone count the angels who serve him? Is there any place where God's light does not shine?
3
Can his forces be numbered? On whom does his light not rise?
4 Can anyone be righteous or pure in God's sight?
4
How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure?
5 In his eyes even the moon is not bright, or the stars pure.
5
If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his eyes,
6 Then what about a human being, that worm, that insect? What is a human life worth in God's eyes?
6
how much less a mortal, who is but a maggot— a human being, who is only a worm!”
