Job 25

NCV

CJB

1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered:
1 Bildad the Shuchi said,
2 "God rules and he must be honored; he set up order in his high heaven.
2 "Dominion and fear belong to him; he makes peace in his high places.
3 No one can count God's armies. His light shines on all people.
3 Can his armies be numbered? On whom does his light not shine?
4 So no one can be good in the presence of God, and no one born to a woman can be pure.
4 How then can humans be righteous with God? How can those born of women be clean?
5 Even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his eyes.
5 Why, before him even the moon lacks brightness, and the stars themselves are not pure.
6 People are much less! They are like insects. They are only worms!"
6 How much less a human, who is merely a maggot, a mortal, who is only a worm?!"
