1 The second lot went to Simeon for its clans. Their inheritance was within the territory of Judah.

They received the towns of Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan, four towns and their villages.
8 plus all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer, the Ramah of the Negev.
8
They also received all the very small areas with people living in them as far as Baalath Beer (this is the same as Ramah in southern Canaan). So these were the lands given to the family groups in the tribe of Simeon.
9 The inheritance of Simeon came out of the share of Judah, because Judah's portion turned out to be more than they needed. That's how the people of Simeon came to get their lot from within Judah's portion.
9
The land of the Simeonites was taken from part of the land of Judah. Since Judah had much more land than they needed, the Simeonites received part of their land.
10 The third lot went to Zebulun, clan by clan:
10
The third part of the land was given to the tribe of Zebulun. Each family group of Zebulun received some of the land. The border of Zebulun went as far as Sarid.
11 It ran west to Maralah, met Dabbesheth, and then went to the brook opposite Jokneam.
11
Then it went west to Maralah and came near Dabbesheth and then near Jokneam.
12 In the other direction from Sarid, the border ran east; it followed the sunrise to the border of Kisloth Tabor, on to Daberath and up to Japhia.
12
Then it turned to the east. It went from Sarid to the area of Kisloth Tabor and on to Daberath and to Japhia.
13 It continued east to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin, came out at Rimmon, and turned toward Neah.
13
It continued eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin, ending at Rimmon. There the border turned and went toward Neah.
14 There the border went around on the north to Hannathon and ran out into the Valley of Iphtah El.
14
At Neah it turned again and went to the north to Hannathon and continued to the Valley of Iphtah El.
15 It included Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem - twelve cities with their villages.

32 The sixth lot came to Naphtali and its clans.
32

33 Their border ran from Heleph, from the oak at Zaanannim, passing Adami Nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum and ending at the Jordan.
33
The border of their land started at the large tree in Zaanannim, which is near Heleph. Then it went through Adami Nekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, and ended at the Jordan River.
34 The border returned on the west at Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok, meeting Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west, and the Jordan on the east.

47 But the people of Dan failed to get rid of the Westerners (Amorites), who pushed them back into the hills. The Westerners kept them out of the plain and they didn't have enough room. So the people of Dan marched up and attacked Leshem. They took it, killed the inhabitants, and settled in. They renamed it Leshem Dan after the name of Dan their ancestor.
47
(But the Danites had trouble taking their land. They went and fought against Leshem, defeated it, and killed the people who lived there. So the Danites moved into the town of Leshem and changed its name to Dan, because he was the father of their tribe.)
48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, according to its clans, these towns with their villages.
48
All of these towns and villages were given to the family groups of Dan.
49 They completed the dividing of the land as inheritance and the setting of its boundaries. The People of Israel then gave an inheritance among them to Joshua son of Nun.
49
After the leaders finished dividing the land and giving it to the different tribes, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun his land also.
50 In obedience to God's word, they gave him the city which he had requested, Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. He rebuilt the city and settled there.
50
They gave Joshua the town he asked for, Timnath Serah in the mountains of Ephraim, just as the Lord commanded. He built up the town and lived there.
51 These are the inheritances which Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun and the ancestral leaders assigned by lot to the tribes of Israel at Shiloh in the presence of God at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. They completed the dividing of the land.
51
So these lands were given to the different tribes of Israel. Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders of each tribe divided up the land by lots at Shiloh. They met in the presence of the Lord at the entrance to the Meeting Tent. Now they were finished dividing the land.
