1 La parte que tocó en suerte a la tribu de los hijos de Judá conforme a sus familias, llegaba hasta la frontera de Edom, hacia el sur, hasta el desierto de Zin al extremo sur.

2 Y su límite al sur se extendía desde el extremo del mar Salado, desde la bahía que da hacia el sur,

3 y seguía por el sur hacia la subida de Acrabim y continuaba hasta Zin; entonces subía por el lado sur de Cades-barnea hasta Hezrón, y subía hasta Adar y volvía a Carca.

4 Y pasaba por Asmón y seguía hasta el torrente de Egipto; y el límite terminaba en el mar. Este será vuestro límite meridional.

5 El límite oriental era el mar Salado hasta la desembocadura del Jordán. El límite por el lado norte era desde la bahía del mar en la desembocadura del Jordán.

6 Entonces el límite subía hasta Bet-hogla y seguía al norte de Bet-arabá y subía hasta la piedra de Bohán, hijo de Rubén.

7 Y el límite subía hasta Debir desde el valle de Acor, y volvía hacia el norte, hacia Gilgal que está frente a la subida de Adumín, al sur del valle, y seguía hasta las aguas de En-semes y terminaba en En-rogel.

8 Después el límite subía por el valle de Ben-hinom hasta la ladera del jebuseo al sur, es decir, Jerusalén, y subía hasta la cumbre del monte que está frente al valle de Hinom hacia el occidente, que está al extremo del valle de Refaim hacia el norte.

9 Y desde la cumbre del monte el límite doblaba hacia la fuente de las aguas de Neftoa, y seguía hasta las ciudades del monte Efrón, girando hacia Baala, es decir, Quiriat-jearim.

10 De Baala el límite giraba hacia el occidente, hasta el monte Seir, y continuaba hasta la ladera del monte Jearim al norte, es decir, Quesalón, y bajaba a Bet-semes, y continuaba por Timna.

11 Y hacia el norte el límite seguía por el lado de Ecrón, girando hacia Sicrón, y continuaba hasta el monte Baala, seguía hasta Jabneel y terminaba en el mar.

12 El límite occidental era el mar Grande, es decir, su costa. Este es el límite alrededor de los hijos de Judá conforme a sus familias.

13 Y dio a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, una porción entre los hijos de Judá, según el mandato del SEÑOR a Josué, es decir, Quiriat-arba, siendo Arba el padre de Anac, es decir, Hebrón.

14 Y Caleb expulsó de allí a los tres hijos de Anac: Sesai, Ahimán y Talmai, hijos de Anac.

15 De allí subió contra los habitantes de Debir (el nombre de Debir antes era Quiriat-séfer).

16 Y Caleb dijo: Al que ataque a Quiriat-séfer y la tome, yo le daré a mi hija Acsa por mujer.

17 Y Otoniel, hijo de Cenaz, hermano de Caleb, la tomó, y él le dio a su hija Acsa por mujer.

18 Y sucedió que cuando ella vino a él, éste la persuadió a que pidiera un campo a su padre. Ella entonces se bajó del asno, y Caleb le dijo: ¿Qué quieres?

19 Y ella dijo: Dame una bendición; ya que me has dado la tierra del Neguev, dame también fuentes de agua. Y él le dio las fuentes de arriba y las fuentes de abajo.

20 Esta es la heredad de la tribu de los hijos de Judá conforme a sus familias.

21 Y las ciudades al extremo de la tribu de los hijos de Judá, hacia el límite de Edom en el sur, fueron: Cabseel, Edar, Jagur,

24 Zif, Telem, Bealot,

25 Hazor-hadata, Queriot-hezrón, es decir, Hazor,

26 Amam, Sema, Molada,

27 Hazar-gada, Hesmón, Bet-pelet,

28 Hazar-sual, Beerseba, Bizotia,

29 Baala, Iim, Esem,

30 Eltolad, Quesil, Horma,

31 Siclag, Madmana, Sansana,

32 Lebaot, Silhim, Aín y Rimón; en total veintinueve ciudades con sus aldeas.

1 The lot for the people of Judah, their clans, extended south to the border of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin in the extreme south.

2 The southern border ran from the tip of the Salt Sea south of The Tongue;

3 it ran southward from Scorpions Pass, went around Zin and just south of Kadesh Barnea; then it ran past Hezron, ascended to Addar, and curved around to Karka;

4 from there it passed along to Azmon, came out at the Brook of Egypt, ending at the Sea. This is the southern boundary.

5 The eastern boundary: the Salt Sea up to the mouth of the Jordan.

6 went up to Beth Hoglah and around to the north of Beth Arabah and to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.

7 The border then ascended to Debir from Trouble Valley and turned north toward Gilgal, which lies opposite Red Pass, just south of the gorge. The border then followed the Waters of En Shemesh and ended at En Rogel.

8 The border followed the Valley of Ben Hinnom along the southern slope of the Jebusite ridge (that is, Jerusalem). It ascended to the top of the mountain opposite Hinnom Valley on the west, at the northern end of Rephaim Valley;

9 the border then took a turn at the top of the mountain to the spring, the Waters of Nephtoah, and followed the valley out to Mount Ephron, turned toward Baalah (that is, Kiriath Jearim),

10 took another turn west of Baalah to Mount Seir, curved around to the northern shoulder of Mount Jearim (that is, Kesalon), descended to Beth Shemesh, and crossed to Timnah.

11 The border then went north to the ridge of Ekron, turned toward Shikkeron, passed along to Mount Baalah, and came out at Jabneel. The border ended at the Sea.

12 The western border: the coastline of the Great Sea. This is the boundary around the people of Judah for their clans.

13 Joshua gave Caleb son of Jephunneh a section among the people of Judah, according to God's command. He gave him Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron. Arba was the ancestor of Anak.

14 Caleb drove out three Anakim from Hebron: Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, all descendants of Anak.

15 He marched up from there against the people of Debir. Debir used to be called Kiriath Sepher.

16 Caleb said, "Whoever attacks Kiriath Sepher and takes it, I'll give my daughter Acsah to him as his wife."

17 Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb's brother, took it; so Caleb gave him his daughter Acsah as his wife.

18 When she arrived she got him to ask for farm land from her father. As she dismounted from her donkey Caleb asked her, "What would you like?"

19 She said, "Give me a marriage gift. You've given me desert land; Now give me pools of water!" And he gave her the upper and the lower pools.

20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Judah, clan by clan.

21 The southern towns of the tribe of Judah in the Negev were near the boundary of Edom: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,

22 Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah,

23 Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan,

24 Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,
