1 And the Lord said to Moses,
1 5 And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying,
2 Say to the children of Israel, When you have come into the land which I am giving to you for your resting-place,
2 Speak unto the Bnei Yisroel, and say unto them, When ye be enter into Eretz Moshevoteichem (Land of your Homes), which I give unto you,
3 And are going to make an offering by fire to the Lord, a burned offering or an offering in connection with an oath, or an offering freely given, or at your regular feasts, an offering for a sweet smell to the Lord, from the herd or the flock:
3 And will make an offering by eish unto Hashem, an olah or a zevach in performing a neder, or in a nedvah or in your mo’adim, to make a re’ach nichoach unto Hashem, of the herd or of the flock;
4 Then let him who is making his offering, give to the Lord a meal offering of a tenth part of a measure of the best meal mixed with a fourth part of a hin of oil:
4 Then shall he that offereth his korban unto Hashem bring a minchah of a tenth ephah of flour mixed with the fourth part of a hin of shemen.
5 And for the drink offering, you are to give with the burned offering or other offering, the fourth part of a hin of wine for every lamb.
5 And the fourth part of a hin of yayin for a nesekh shalt thou prepare with the olah (burnt offering) or zevach, for one keves (lamb).
6 Or for a male sheep, give as a meal offering two tenth parts of a measure of the best meal mixed with a third part of a hin of oil:
6 Or for a ram, thou shalt prepare for a minchah twotenths ephah of flour mixed with the third part of a hin of shemen.
7 And for the drink offering give a third part of a hin of wine, for a sweet smell to the Lord.
7 And for a nesekh thou shalt offer the third part of an hin of yayin, for a re’ach nichoach unto Hashem.
8 And when you make ready a young ox for a burned or other offering, or for the effecting of an oath, or for peace-offerings to the Lord:
8 And when thou preparest a bull for an olah (burnt offering), or for a zevach in fulfilling a vow, or shelamim unto Hashem:
9 Then with the ox give a meal offering of three tenth parts of a measure of the best meal mixed with half a hin of oil.
9 Then shall he bring with a bull a minchah of three-tenths ephah of flour mixed with half a hin of shemen.
10 And for the drink offering: give half a hin of wine, for an offering made by fire for a sweet smell to the Lord.
10 And thou shalt bring for a nesekh half a hin of yayin, for an offering made by eish, a re’ach nichoach unto Hashem.
11 This is to be done for every young ox and for every male sheep or he-lamb or young goat.
11 Thus shall it be done for one bull, or for one ram, or for a seh from the lambs, or from the goats.
12 Whatever number you make ready, so you are to do for every one.
12 According to the number that ye shall prepare, so shall ye do to every one according to their mispar.
13 All those who are Israelites by birth are to do these things in this way, when giving an offering made by fire of a sweet smell to the Lord.
13 All that are native-born shall do these things after this manner, in offering an offering made by eish, of a re’ach nichoach unto Hashem.
14 And if a man from another country or any other person living among you, through all your generations, has the desire to give an offering made by fire of a sweet smell to the Lord, let him do as you do.
14 And if a ger stays temporarily with you, or whosoever be among you in your derot, and will offer an offering made by eish, of a re’ach nichoach unto Hashem; as ye do, so he shall do.
15 There is to be one law for you and for the man of another country living with you, one law for ever from generation to generation; as you are, so is he to be before the Lord.
15 One chukkah shall be both for you of the Kahal, and also for the ger that sojourneth with you, a chukkat olam in your derot; as ye are, so shall the ger be before Hashem.
16 The law and the rule are to be the same for you and for those from other lands living with you.
16 One torah and one mishpat shall be for you, and for the ger that sojourneth with you.
17 And the Lord said to Moses,
17 And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying,
18 Say to the children of Israel, When you come into the land where I am guiding you,
18 Speak unto the Bnei Yisroel, and say unto them, When ye come into HaAretz whither I bring you,
19 Then, when you take for your food the produce of the land, you are to give an offering lifted up before the Lord.
19 Then it shall be, that, when ye eat of the lechem HaAretz, ye shall offer up a terumah unto Hashem.
20 Of the first of your rough meal you are to give a cake for a lifted offering, lifting it up before the Lord as the offering of the grain-floor is lifted up.
20 Ye shall offer up a challah (loaf, cake) of the first of your kneading for a terumah; as ye do the terumat goren (gift of the threshing floor), so shall ye set it aside.
21 From generation to generation you are to give to the Lord a lifted offering from the first of your rough meal.
21 Of the first of your kneading ye shall give unto Hashem a terumah in your derot.
22 And if in error you go against any of these laws which the Lord has given to Moses,
22 And if ye have sinned unintentionally, and not observed all these mitzvot, which Hashem hath spoken unto Moshe,
23 All the laws which the Lord has given you by the hand of Moses, from the day when the Lord gave them, and ever after from generation to generation;
23 Even all that Hashem hath commanded you by the hand of Moshe, from the day that Hashem commanded Moshe, and henceforward among your derot;
24 Then, if the wrong is done in error, without the knowledge of the meeting of the people, let all the meeting give a young ox as a burned offering, a sweet smell to the Lord, with its meal offering and its drink offering, as is ordered in the law, together with a he-goat for a sin-offering.
24 Then it shall be, if it be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of HaEdah, that Kol HaEdah shall offer one young bull for an olah, for a re’ach nichoach unto Hashem, with its minchah, and its nesekh, according to the mishpat, and one kid of the goats for a chattat.
25 So the priest will make the people free from sin, and they will have forgiveness; for it was an error, and they have given their offering made by fire to the Lord, and their sin-offering before the Lord, on account of their error:
25 And the kohen shall make kapporah for Kol Adat Bnei Yisroel and it shall be forgiven them; for it is shegagah (inadvertence); and they shall bring their korban, a sacrifice made by eish unto Hashem, and their chattat before Hashem, for their shegagah;
26 And all the meeting of the children of Israel, as well as those from other lands living among them, will have forgiveness; for it was an error on the part of the people.
26 And it shall be forgiven Kol Adat Bnei Yisroel, and the ger that sojourneth among them; seeing Kol HaAm were in shegagah.
27 And if one person does wrong, without being conscious of it, then let him give a she-goat of the first year for a sin-offering.
27 And if any nefesh sin through shegagah, then he shall bring a she-goat of the first year for a chattat.
28 And the priest will take away the sin of the person who has done wrong, if the wrong was done unconsciously, and he will have forgiveness.
28 And the kohen shall make kapporah for the nefesh that was inadvertant, since he sinneth by shegagah before Hashem, to make kapporah for him; and it shall be forgiven him.
29 The law in connection with wrong done unconsciously is to be the same for him who is an Israelite by birth and for the man from another country who is living among them.
29 Ye shall have one torah for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the Bnei Yisroel, and for the ger that sojourneth among them.
30 But the person who does wrong in the pride of his heart, if he is one of you or of another nation by birth, is acting without respect for the Lord, and will be cut off from his people.
30 But the nefesh that sinneth with a yad ramah (high hand, defiantly), whether he be born in the land, or a ger, the same blasphemes Hashem; and that nefesh shall be cut off from among his people.
31 Because he had no respect for the word of the Lord, and did not keep his law, that man will be cut off without mercy and his sin will be on him.
31 Because he hath despised the Devar Hashem, and hath broken His mitzvah, that nefesh shall utterly be cut off; his avon shall be upon him.
32 Now while the children of Israel were in the waste land, they saw a man who was getting sticks on the Sabbath day.
32 And while the Bnei Yisroel were in the midbar, they found a man that gathered sticks on Shabbos.
33 And those who saw him getting sticks took him before Moses and Aaron and all the people.
33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moshe and Aharon, and unto Kol HaEdah.
34 And they had him shut up, because they had no directions about what was to be done with him.
34 And they put him under custody, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
35 Then the Lord said to Moses, Certainly the man is to be put to death: let him be stoned by all the people outside the tent-circle.
35 And Hashem said unto Moshe, The man shall be surely put to death; Kol HaEdah shall stone him with avanim outside the machaneh.
36 So all the people took him outside the tent-circle and he was stoned to death there, as the Lord gave orders to Moses.
36 And Kol HaEdah brought him outside the machaneh, and stoned him with avanim, and he died; as Hashem commanded Moshe.
37 And the Lord said to Moses,
37 And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying,
38 Say to the children of Israel that through all their generations they are to put on the edges of their robes an ornament of twisted threads, and in every ornament a blue cord;
38 Speak unto the Bnei Yisroel, and bid them that they make them tzitzis on the corners of their garments throughout their derot, and that they put upon the tzitzis of the corners a thread of turquoise wool;
39 So that, looking on these ornaments, you may keep in mind the orders of the Lord and do them; and not be guided by the desires of your hearts and eyes, through which you have been untrue to me:
39 And it shall be unto you for a tzitzit, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the mitzvot Hashem, and do them; and that ye follow not after your own lev and your own eyes, after which ye used to go a-whoring:
40 And that you may keep in mind all my orders and do them and be holy to your God.
40 That ye may remember, and do all My mitzvot, and be kadoshim unto Eloheichem.
41 I am the Lord your God, who took you out of the land of Egypt, so that I might be your God: I am the Lord your God.
41 I am Hashem Eloheichem, Who brought you out of Eretz Mitzrayim, to be for you Elohim: I am Hashem Eloheichem.
