Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.
2 El hombre bueno recibe el favor del SEÑOR,pero el intrigante recibe su condena.

Good people obtain favor from the LORD, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.
3 Nadie puede afirmarse por medio de la maldad;solo queda firme la raíz de los justos.

No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted.
4 La mujer ejemplar es corona de su esposo;la desvergonzada es carcoma en los huesos.

A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.
5 En los planes del justo hay justicia,pero en los consejos del malvado hay engaño.

The plans of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.
6 Las palabras del malvado son insidias de muerte,pero la boca de los justos los pone a salvo.

The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.

The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous stands firm.

A person is praised according to their prudence, and one with a warped mind is despised.

Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant than pretend to be somebody and have no food.
10 El justo atiende a las necesidades de su bestia,pero el malvado es de mala entraña.

The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
11 El que labra su tierra tendrá abundante comida,pero el que sueña despierto es un imprudente.

Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.
12 Los malos deseos son la trampa de los malvados,pero la raíz de los justos prospera.

The wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers, but the root of the righteous endures.
13 En el pecado de sus labios se enreda el malvado,pero el justo sale del aprieto.

Evildoers are trapped by their sinful talk, and so the innocent escape trouble.
14 Cada uno se sacia del fruto de sus labios,y de la obra de sus manos recibe su recompensa.

From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.
15 Al necio le parece bien lo que emprende,pero el sabio escucha el consejo.

The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.
16 El necio muestra en seguida su enojo,pero el prudente pasa por alto el insulto.

Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
17 El testigo verdadero declara lo que es justo,pero el testigo falso declara falsedades.

An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies.
18 El charlatán hiere con la lengua como con una espada,pero la lengua del sabio brinda alivio.

The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
19 Los labios sinceros permanecen para siempre,pero la lengua mentirosa dura solo un instante.

Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.
20 En los que fraguan el mal habita el engaño,pero hay gozo para los que promueven la paz.

Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy.
21 Al justo no le sobrevendrá ningún daño,pero al malvado lo cubrirá la desgracia.

No harm overtakes the righteous, but the wicked have their fill of trouble.
22 El SEÑOR aborrece a los de labios mentirosos,pero se complace en los que actúan con lealtad.

The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.
23 El hombre prudente no muestra lo que sabe,pero el corazón de los necios proclama su necedad.

The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves, but a fool’s heart blurts out folly.
24 El de manos diligentes gobernará;pero el perezoso será subyugado.

Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.

Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.
26 El justo es guía de su prójimo,pero el camino del malvado lleva a la perdición.

The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
27 El perezoso no atrapa presa,pero el diligente ya posee una gran riqueza.

The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.
