1 Ein Stufenlied. Die auf Jehova vertrauen, sind gleich dem Berge Zion, der nicht wankt, der ewiglich bleibt.

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
2 Jerusalem, Berge sind rings um sie her: so ist Jehova rings um sein Volk, von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, from this time on and forevermore.
3 Denn die Rute der Gesetzlosigkeit wird auf dem Lose der Gerechten nicht ruhen, damit die Gerechten ihre Hände nicht ausstrecken nach Unrecht.

For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, so that the righteous might not stretch out their hands to do wrong.
4 Tue Gutes, Jehova, den Guten und denen, die aufrichtig sind in ihren Herzen!

Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts.
5 Die aber auf ihre krummen Wege abbiegen, die wird Jehova dahinfahren lassen mit denen, welche Frevel tun. Wohlfahrt über Israel!

But those who turn aside to their own crooked ways the Lord will lead away with evildoers. Peace be upon Israel!
