Psalm 19

CSB 1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands. NIV 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. CSB 2 Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. NIV 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. CSB 3 There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard. NIV 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. CSB 4 Their message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the inhabited world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun. NIV 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. CSB 5 It is like a groom coming from the bridal chamber; it rejoices like an athlete running a course. NIV 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. CSB 6 It rises from one end of the heavens and circles to their other end; nothing is hidden from its heat. NIV 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. CSB 7 The instruction of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. NIV 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. CSB 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, making the heart glad; the commandment of the Lord is radiant, making the eyes light up. NIV 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. CSB 9 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are reliable and altogether righteous. NIV 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. CSB 10 They are more desirable than gold- than an abundance of pure gold; and sweeter than honey- than honey dripping from the comb. NIV 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. CSB 11 In addition, Your servant is warned by them; there is great reward in keeping them. NIV 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. CSB 12 Who perceives his unintentional sins? Cleanse me from my hidden faults. NIV 12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. CSB 13 Moreover, keep Your servant from willful sins; do not let them rule over me. Then I will be innocent, and cleansed from blatant rebellion. NIV 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. CSB 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. NIV 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
