1 A Song of Ascents. Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways!

Happy are those who obey the Lord, who live by his commands.
2 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

Your work will provide for your needs; you will be happy and prosperous.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in your home, and your children will be like young olive trees around your table.
4 Lo, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD.

A man who obeys the Lord will surely be blessed like this.
5 The LORD bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life!

May the Lord bless you from Zion! May you see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life!
6 May you see your children's children! Peace be upon Israel!
