Psalm 146

ASV

CSB

1 Praise ye Jehovah. Praise Jehovah, O my soul.
1 Hallelujah! My soul, praise the Lord.
2 While I live will I praise Jehovah: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
2 I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing to the Lord as long as I live.
3 Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
3 Do not trust in nobles, in man, who cannot save.
4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his thoughts perish.
4 When his breath leaves him, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans die.
5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in Jehovah his God:
5 Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that in them is; Who keepeth truth for ever;
6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. He remains faithful forever,
7 Who executeth justice for the oppressed; Who giveth food to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;
7 executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The Lord frees prisoners.
8 Jehovah openeth [the eyes of] the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;
8 The Lord opens [the eyes of] the blind. The Lord raises up those who are oppressed. The Lord loves the righteous.
9 Jehovah preserveth the sojourners; He upholdeth the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
9 The Lord protects foreigners and helps the fatherless and the widow, but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.
10 Jehovah will reign for ever, Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye Jehovah.
10 The Lord reigns forever; Zion, your God [reigns] for all generations. Hallelujah!
