1 alleluia laudate Dominum de caelis laudate eum in excelsis
1
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from heaven, you that live in the heights above.
2 laudate eum omnes angeli eius laudate eum omnes virtutes eius

Praise him, all his angels, all his heavenly armies.
3 laudate eum sol et luna laudate eum omnes stellae et lumen
3
Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, shining stars.
4 laudate eum caeli caelorum et aqua quae super caelum est

Praise him, highest heavens, and the waters above the sky.
5 laudent nomen Domini quia ipse dixit et facta sunt ipse mandavit et creata sunt

Let them all praise the name of the Lord! He commanded, and they were created;
6 statuit ea in saeculum et in saeculum saeculi praeceptum posuit et non praeteribit

by his command they were fixed in their places forever, and they cannot disobey.
7 laudate Dominum de terra dracones et omnes abyssi

Praise the Lord from the earth, sea monsters and all ocean depths;
8 ignis grando nix glacies spiritus procellarum quae faciunt verbum eius

lightning and hail, snow and clouds, strong winds that obey his command.
9 montes et omnes colles ligna fructifera et omnes cedri
9
Praise him, hills and mountains, fruit trees and forests;
10 bestiae et universa pecora serpentes et volucres pinnatae
10
all animals, tame and wild, reptiles and birds.
11 reges terrae et omnes populi principes et omnes iudices terrae
11
Praise him, kings and all peoples, princes and all other rulers;
12 iuvenes et virgines senes cum iunioribus laudent nomen Domini
12
young women and young men, old people and children too.
13 quia exaltatum est nomen eius solius
13
Let them all praise the name of the Lord! His name is greater than all others; his glory is above earth and heaven.
14 confessio eius super caelum et terram et exaltabit cornu populi sui hymnus omnibus sanctis eius filiis Israhel populo adpropinquanti sibi

He made his nation strong, so that all his people praise him - the people of Israel, so dear to him. Praise the Lord!
