Psalms 23

RHE

NIV

1 (22-1) <A psalm for David.> The Lord ruleth me: and I shall want nothing.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 (22-2) He hath set me in a place of pasture. He hath brought me up, on the water of refreshment:
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 (22-3) He hath converted my soul. He hath led me on the paths of justice, for his own name’s sake.
3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
4 (22-4) For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they have comforted me
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 (22-5) Thou hast prepared a table before me against them that afflict me. Thou hast anointed my head with oil; and my chalice which inebreateth me, how goodly is it!
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 (22-6) And thy mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And that I may dwell in the house of the Lord unto length of days.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
