Psalm 26

BBE

OJB

1 <Of David.> O Lord, be my judge, for my behaviour has been upright: I have put my faith in the Lord, I am not in danger of slipping.
1 6 (Of Dovid) Vindicate me, Hashem; for I have walked in mine tohm (guilelessness); I have trusted also in Hashem without wavering.
2 Put me in the scales, O Lord, so that I may be tested; let the fire make clean my thoughts and my heart.
2 Examine me, Hashem, and prove me; try my heart and my mind.
3 For your mercy is before my eyes; and I have gone in the way of your good faith.
3 For Thy chesed is before mine eyes; and I have walked in Thy emes.
4 I have not taken my seat with foolish persons, and I do not go with false men.
4 I do not sit with meteishav (men of vanity), neither will I go in with dissemblers.
5 I have been a hater of the band of wrongdoers, and I will not be seated among sinners.
5 I have hated the kehal mere’im (congregation of evil doers); and will not sit with the resha’im.
6 I will make my hands clean from sin; so will I go round your altar, O Lord;
6 I will wash mine hands in nikkayon (innocency, cleanness, freedom from punishment); so will I encompass Thine Mizbe’ach, Hashem;
7 That I may give out the voice of praise, and make public all the wonders which you have done.
7 That I may publish with the voice of todah, and tell of all Thy wondrous works.
8 Lord, your house has been dear to me, and the resting-place of your glory.
8 Hashem, I have loved the ma’on of Thy Bais [HaMikdash], and the Mishkan where Thine kavod dwelleth.
9 Let not my soul be numbered among sinners, or my life among men of blood;
9 Take not away my nefesh with chatta’im (sinners), nor my Chai (life) with anshei damim;
10 In whose hands are evil designs, and whose right hands take money for judging falsely.
10 In whose hands is zimmah (wicked plans), and their right hand is full of shochad (bribery).
11 But as for me, I will go on in my upright ways: be my saviour, and have mercy on me.
11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity; redeem me, v’chaneini (and be merciful and gracious unto me).
12 I have a safe resting-place for my feet; I will give praise to the Lord in the meetings of the people.
12 My regel standeth on level ground; in the great assemblies unto Hashem will I render brocha.
