1 Cantico di Maalot. BEATO chiunque teme il Signore, E cammina nelle sue vie.

Happy are those who obey the Lord, who live by his commands.
2 Perciocchè tu mangerai della fatica delle tue mani; Tu sarai beato, ed egli ti sarà bene.

Your work will provide for your needs; you will be happy and prosperous.
3 La tua moglie sarà dentro della tua casa Come una vigna fruttifera; I tuoi figliuoli saranno d’intorno alla tua tavola, Come piante novelle di ulivi.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in your home, and your children will be like young olive trees around your table.
4 Ecco, certamente così sarà benedetto L’uomo che teme il Signore.

A man who obeys the Lord will surely be blessed like this.
5 Il Signore ti benedirà di Sion; E tu vedrai il bene di Gerusalemme Tutti i giorni della tua vita;

May the Lord bless you from Zion! May you see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life!
6 E vedrai i figliuoli de’ tuoi figliuoli. Pace sia sopra Israele.
